LMFAO! Seriously, want to talk about hypocrisy! They of all people have no right to condemn such actions when Islamic countries are far worse than anything the Swiss have done. Banning minarets is an affront to Muslims all over the world? How about shredding Christian Bibles at Riyadh Airport! Or yanking crosses(pendents) from the necks of visitors to your country and then destroying them(Saudi Arabia - Yemen - Iran)? I am not a Christian BTW. I do not believe in organized religion, to me it is blight on the human race. What irks me is that these people of this particular religion have the gal to condemn another nations peoples because of their stand on the topic of minarets when many Islamic nations actually give lashes to owners of bibles, and even take others lives for even talking about other religions, and you show me one, just one Christian Church(just one), Jewish Synagogue, or Buddhist Temple in Saudi Arabia!. Want to know why the world is so screwed up? Because people like this make the world worse. They do more to divide people than to bring them together. They of all people have no right to condemn anyone when they themselves show so little respect for others beliefs and ways of life. So when will these Muslim leaders speak out about the Islamic nations that have a more intolerant and discriminatory laws against other religions? Hypocrisy at its best! <<<< read it here! ![]() |

They condemn the ban because it is driven by fear of the Islamic faith and its threat to Christianity. You know what I find hypocritical is making the argument that because an Islamic country does not practice the same religious freedoms as a justification for what is clearly an attack against a minorities right to religious freedom. |

I think the law has a short shelf life. It will be in front of the European Court of Human Rights (which the Swiss are signatories of) before long and overturned. "If we don't attack them, they will attack us first. So we'd better retaliate before they have a chance to strike" |

"The referendum by the nationalist Swiss People's Party labeled minarets as symbols of rising Muslim political power that could one day transform Switzerland into an Islamic nation" - fact Using the flaws/wrongs of one group to support the flaws/wrongs of another is logically flawed - fact. |

Personally I think they should just kick the bastards out and send them back to their sand box. They have no respect for western civilization so why put up with them? |

Judging every muslim based on their craziest, whack job, wing nut members is like basing all your knowledge of Christians off the Westboro Church or the KKK. ...throwing out all the politicians is fine though, they can go live in Atlantis. |

If you want to make an analogy you might want to find some groups that are more than just annoying. Radical Islamists kill people. Sarah Palin just makes annoying speeches. I'm not sure they really equate. |

I forgot that the KKK didn't kill African-Americans they just annoyed them with mean words and factless claims "You have some serious mental issues you may need to seek some help for. Uh, I think everyone would be ok with tossing out the KKK. I mean after all the KKK is at war in two different countries, and they are killing women and children with suicide bombs, and it in the news all the time for planting IEDs, and trying to destablize regaions. Oh wait, they aren't. Seems they're just some backwards assholes nobody cares about these days.

I think its wrong to deny one religion building places of worship to their specifications. It shouldn't matter whats happening in the middle-east, it matters what happens in Switzerland. Its just another example of a European Nation being big brother. |

I think the ban is driven by something a bit more down to earth. Switzerland is a beautiful and immaculately maintained country. Minarets simply don't fit in with the architecture style. I love Muslims, but there's no way I want a 21st century mosque on my historic skyline. Not In My Back Yard.
The right to religious freedom? You are welcome to it. The right to mangle my property's value and my soothing views? No Thanks. Swiss people don't give a monkeys what your religion is, it's a non issue in Europe in general. |

It goes further than that. Radical Islam seeks to destabilize governments. They want to instill their laws and religion. "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy. Its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." -- Winston Churchill |

From the article: "Maskuri Abdillah, head of Indonesia's biggest Muslim group, Nahdlatul Ulama" Egypt's top cleric, Ali Gomaa, called the referendum an "insult" to Muslims. It made no mention of the nations that you're referring to, so keep lumping all muslims into the same category and judging them based on the actions of others, because the world needs more intolerance, ignorance, and prejudice. The way you feel about muslims and terrorism is the way idiots back in the 1980s felt about black people and crime. Those of us that were around in the 80s are clucking our tongues and shaking our heads at you. I wonder what it would take to turn you against black people, or jews, or any other race, colour, creed, sex, age, or any damn thing that makes YOU different from THEM. |

OMG Ali Gomaa is from Egypt too! You've really opened my eyes on this issue! I mean, judging an entire group of people based on the actions of a minority within that group is the foundation of justice, and we shouldn't let innocent people get away with the evil that other people have commited! Or, wait a minute... Maybe those evil people are punishing those poor Christians for the evil that the crusaders commited... Hmm, is there a statute of limitations on hating people for something they didn't do? I'm so confused - I need more of your wisdom. |
