I just watched the vision of the future trailer for aion and i about jizzed my pants. I recently unsubbed becuase it was a bit to grindy.. (befofe the lastest patch 1.5).

I was wondering how the population is doing... if the game is less grindy etc, and when all that sexy stuff in that video was gona come into play.

i watched the video as well, and it really grabs attension. i liked it alot.  Im sure it will be implemented in sections of course, and only after a year or so of aion being live.  I wonder if any of it has been added in aion chinease/korea.  I dont think so, with that in mind you could expect to wait a good while before any of it is actually in game and usable.  Its funny I havent seen hide nor hair of any grind that isnt fiting into aion, at what point did you feel your grind become unbarable to quit the game?  Sometimes finding the right people to play with can affect that but iv heared a few other complaints to the grind as well.  Im level 13 sorceror, and i havent felt the grind yet, theres just to much to do and its all implimeted extreamly well.  I found the auction house yesterday, very cool...

 i wanna return only thing has NC took care of the gold spamming and bots yet i know they banned like 16k accounts 

I just started the game, got to lvl 8, and I have seen only a couple of gold sellers. It has not been a problem at all; in fact, whenever I go into any city in RL, I expect to see jayhawkers, hustlers, and shysters, so the RPG aspect isn't too bad LOL

 the game hasnt even been out for 3 months and you have unsubscribed now you are thinking about resubbing. you funny.

there are still occasional gold spammers but NCSoft is cracking down on them big time

Well to build off of this:

Myself and a few buds of mine all played the first month, but then quit as it was way too much mindless grinding for our taste the higher level we got. I have read a lot about changes they made and whatnot, and its sparking my curiosity again.

Has the new patch that increases XP to quests made a SIGNIFICANT difference or will I still find myself needing to kill 500 of something to make one level?

I'm not an Aion basher, in fact I loved Aion for that month, but I dont get to play as much as some people so when I get to play games, I want to have fun, not feel like I am working a job.

They've only cracked the surface with the quest exp revamping, it hasn't all been implemented from what I understand. So you will still need to do a lot of mindless grinding. I'd say check in again at the next big update.

The OP sounds like the kind of guy that would get a free lap dance then complain because it wasn't sex.  Doesn't matter if you resub or not , you will never be happy with anything. 

I've played the game since launch and the recent patches/bans have made a huge difference. I'm currently level 39 and mainly questing in Heiron (27/30 quest log). The quests reward enough exp to make questing as viable as grinding, also some of the quest rewards are well worth working for. I havent seen a bot in Heiron for at least two days, it used to be FULL of bots. I generally spend my time doing a mixture of questing, grinding in areas like lepherist citadel for insignias that turn in for a great item, or grouping with guildies to kill asmos, farm fortress guards, take artifacts, raid/defend forts or hunt Andre... There is no shortage of things to do and I am not feeling the 'grind' anymore.This is a good game which is only getting better :)

They did smack alot of botters I give them that, it made the servers like ghost towns at some point I'd go for 30-40 minutes before i saw someone. Gold spammers eh still piss me off as you cannot right click block no more and block list is capped at 100 making it a daily job to remove and edit people on it. Bots are still in the game, and more just return by the day but i'd say the bot population is down about 60% or better for the time being . As all games bots are a pain usually after a big ban it takes them a few days to make new accounts but rest assure they will be bakc as long as people but the damn kinah off them.

I still find that grinding is better that questing in the Level 20s. However I hear leveling is easier that before for the higher levels

Population still seems high, at least on Lumiel anyways, Zikel is pretty good to. I haven't checked other servers much.

As for grinding they increased the exp for 20+ quests, but even before then i've never run out of quests/been put in a position where i needed to grind.

they've put in a ton of changes, revamped the whole experience since then.

LOL right, they only banned some bots and the xp gain 20+ it was so small I never even saw it then. All they did was tinker with the .dll file, and ban said " 16,000" bots which is a drop in the bucket.

bots have been banned many are back already with ne w toons

gold spammers spamming everyday

some quests increased post level 20 but very very few in the grand shceme of things

NC are currently doing some testing at a broad range increase to everything mob xo elite mob xp quest xp kinah crafting xp the works and that will be pushed live when ready.

They are slowly but sureley realising this is a western market who like the visual style of asian games but not the mechanics.
