One of the best manifestations of the rogue can be found in Vanguard Saga of Heroes, imho. In groups he fights in stealth and only breaks stealth if he takes damage. He can then regain stealth when aggro is taken away from him by the Tank(whilst still in combat). He has various darts and other devices(can't remember what they are called) used for crowd cotnrol etc, poison darts, that do damage over time etc, which adds a lot of strategy to the class. And finally i have to mention the graphics when the rogue enters stealth, he disolves in particles which is pretty cool. If you love rogues check VG out, there is a free VG trial as well. |

Not really, rogues are only disliked by those to stupid to catch us before we stealth. There is also the problem of early trinketing. Rogue DPS is phenomenal, they have many different paths to support peoples play style. They also excel in arena. But I agree, hate will come your way, which is normal for any class in the game and it will always come from those that have no clue how to play the game.

Don't try Warhammer! I loved my WoW-Rogue and got into Warhammer afterwards, searching for a Rogue Class. Everyone recommended Witch Hunter to me as a Rogue class. Does not even come close to WoW-Rogue. So if anyone recommends Warhammer when it comes to Rogue Classes do not listen and waste your time. |

No Rogue class with an invisible button is a well developed rogue/thief class, imo. Its when your Rogue has so many tricks, non-combat abilities, and combat debuffs that make you forget about the usual, used-to-death MMO stealth ability and DPS class cannon setup, thats when you have found a original and cool Rogue class. Sadly, only one MMO game has come close and thats DDO. |

Here's a question: Are rogue players in MMOs the same people who camp in FPS games? Never argue with a fool, onlookers may not be able to tell the difference. -Author unknown, attributed to Mark Twain |

This statement is crazy, for the want of a better word. It implies that anyone who does not catch a wow rogue before he stealths is stupid. Tell me which rogue would let themselves be caught out of stealth? No doubt a stupid one. By your reasoning when a BG starts everyone on the opposing team must be stupid cos all the rogues stealth more or less as they leave the gates or before the enemy closes within visible range.
It seems you have never been attacked by a rogue in Wow? The reason why rogues are disliked by the majority is because they have an "I Win" button that requires no strategy or skill to use, once all the conditions are met you click the "I Win" button and your enemy dies. No victim is ever gonna like that...... Sometimes the "I win" button fizzles and then you escape and come back and try it again. There are people who look at this as a cowards way of fighting, which is what a rogue is all about if you think about it, and of course this is the way it was designed by Blizzrd. |

DDo and Vanguard both has a great rogue class. In DDo a rogue actually needs to remember all the traps in dungeons and overall it's a hard class to play. In Vanguard rogue again, is one of the hardest classes to play, and it's a lot about varius utility abilities rather than pure damage. REALITY CHECK |

WoW rogues are pathetic. Out of all the games I've played in the last 6 or 7 years, the rogue class in DDO is the most fun to play. |

Vanguard's rogue has so far been the best I've yet witnessed in an MMORPG. |

I'm sorry, that is only something bad rogues would say. With cooldowns, a rogue has almost no hard counters. I say almost because a few cheese things can counter them (tank spec classes, especially prot pallys). Besides, if the rogue is bad or isn't going to win the fight, CloS, Spint, vanish at once, and you reset the fight or get away. Rogues are so disliked for their ability to pick and choose their fights without their target knowing until they are stunned. They are disliked for their ability to eat cloth. They are disliked for their "oh noes, gonna lose, time to get away". And they are disliked because every rogue thinks they are great, and thus create a video of them killing people before stunlock breaks :P. I really enjoyed the rogue class in DDO. But than again, I am not a big stealthy, sneaky sort of player. I enjoy support classes more. So outside of a very few games, I never really play the rogue/stealth class. |

Rogues are almost in any MMO, but the best ones Ive seen are in WoW and Vanguard. In WoW its more dynamic, in VG - more tactical |
