It's one video. Illustrating a point about terrain. If you want different pvp check out dork: www.youtube.com/watch What you see here is better pvp than any of the games you just listed. On top of that this is open world pvp. PvP with meaning and substance.
Well I agree, the first video was not impressive - and find it humorous that you'd dismiss it as "just one video", after you specifically chose it to show off DF PvP.

Darkfall for PvP combat. Eve for the overall PvP system (how it relates to multiple aspects of the game).
If Darkfall, Eve, and Fallen Earth had a 3 way mutant baby... oh my. They all do certain things so very well, and suck it up at the things the others are good at. So disappointing we can't get a complete game. |

Sorry that Darkfall isn't like most MMOs on the market now where you "unlock" a few spells every level. If you actually played the game you'd realize that there is a lot of spells that people use besides mana missle; it's the reason why global cooldowns are getting added (because so many people were utilizing overpowered high level spells).
And no, it's not the end of discussion. To me and many other people, Darkfall's PvP, even in the stage the game is at now in post-launch development (and before the upcoming huge second expansion), is leaps and bounds above other MMOs on the market. Does it have issues? Absoutely, but they're constantly and consistently getting addressed and resolved.
Sorry buddy, but "click on target, click on hotbar, successful hit, rinse, repeat" is no where NEAR as fun for me and many others as a combat system that is twitch based, first person, and requires, again in many people's opinions, much, much more skill than targetting MMOs. |

Darkfall is by far the best PvP MMO I've ever played, but it has a long way to go to be a great sandbox. The second expansion is going to make it, in my opinion, to a "polished" release state, but it still has a lot of work to do to be considered an "excellent" sandbox game. However, I strongly believe Darkfall will become one of the best sandbox games ever made (if not the best), and the fact of the matter is that even with it's current problems before the second expansion, it's PvP is absolutely fantastic.
*edit* And to all of the people screaming that WoW's PvP is awesome... seriously... for real? After playing Darkfall I can never, ever go back to a "target and click" MMO, and if the genre never generates another MMO with similar combat mechanics (i.e. no targeting, etc), then I may end up having to leave the genre. Lucky for me, it looks like this is absolutely not the case.
Took the words right outta my mouth. I bought Aion and just couldnt get into it after playing Darkfall, I was going to buy Mortal Online until I found out they punish you for pvping too much (stat loss) |

Darkfall is a best choice for real pvp basead in player skill u dont need a lot of months to be good u can start good figths in 1 week and in 1 month u will have good stats be good or not is just pratic , one player with 6 months not is immortal and with 3 weeks u can kill him if u have Player skill
Really guys i played a lot of mmos i love mmos , but today dont have other mmo that have all darkfall features , realistc graphics and a real pvp not bullshit tab click click
Today for me have 2 mmorpg style
1-Realistic mmorpg => Darkfall 2-Eve
And.... 3-Child mmorpgs with cartoon graphics or tab click click
In real life any1 can kill u and stole all ur stuffs in any place this like darkfall 18+
Some1 ks u ? Kill him Some1 cross ur way ? Kill him Some1 got ur mob loot? Kill him Or just kill for fun In Darkfall u are Freedom to be a nice guy or no |

First off if you're clicking your skills in WoW pvp you're a giant failure and wouldn't have been able to compete at a top level anyways. Lets just go ahead and get that out of the way. For a roaming pvp mmo Darkfall, EVE, DAOC, UO, Planetside > * For competition, ladders, "going pro" it's pretty obvious, Guild Wars, WoW. As for the best pvp game that's always going to be subjective to the players desires. |

Because all the videos you see are from launch? There are about 500 spells in darkfall, only like 1/8 of them aren't very useful. If you want a ladder PvP game that requires skill GW. WoW requires grind to get level and gear which means the PvP boils down to gear>time>skill where in GW its Skill>everything else. DFO has the best PvP in terms of open world combat, sieges, player interactions, and requiring real player skill (twitch) to compete. If EvE had active combat, then it would probably be better, but its just too boring.

there is actually 10 magic schools of ~15 spells each so 150 spells currently. rumours of new school(s) being added in upcoming patch. the "blue" spell is just the first spell you get, mana missile. you have to not be a complete noob and manage to kill the goblin starter mobs making enough money to buy new spells. |

Best pvp game? Ultima Online. Period. NOTHING comes even close to UO-PvP. No DAoC (nice PvP, surely better than WAR, but way behind UO), no Eve Online (from what I see out of videos; havn't played the game yet), no Guild Wars (it's more like Battlefield with fantasy gear and - of course - quite more depth; nice game), surely no WoW (although I like the pvp mechanics), especially no DF (quite fun to play, but pointless without skill cap - is it integrated now?), no Aion (POINTLESS flying, totally ridiculous) and no other game I tested so far. Honestly: Everyone who hasn't played UO yet, and mentioning another game as best pvp game, should really give UO a try. It's not only the pvp mechanics (but you won't forget a duell between to masters of magery), it's the whole thing around it. Full Loot system (gives craftery real sense), Open PvP in various forms (IDOCs!), several skills which enhance the pvp experience (stealth, hiding, stealing, tracking etc.). |

Well, although I kind of despise WoW, I have to side with WoW in this matter. You can not really compare it with games like UO, DF etc. It surely has no "meaningful pvp" - granted. But I had fun with WoWs PvP for several months. And I still log in from time to time to get into some BGs etc. The PvP mechanics works very well in WoW and is a lot of fun! You can compare it to Guild Wars (no sense in PvPing there too). I love sandbox and really don't like WoW and all those WoW clones out there, but if you don't take WoW as an MMO, more like a battlefield or counterstrike (well in fact its much better than the latter, simply because you have kind of a connection to your char), it works very very well! Since UO I hadn't have so much fun PvPing. It really takes years to master your char (in my case rogue). Try makind duels with good players from all different classes. Without YEAR's of practise, you won't have a chance. Don't make the mistake and expect anything beyond that in WoW. |

Ultima Online without no doubts had the best pvp ever build in a mmorpg game imo. |

The ironic thing is, neither Darkfall or (possibly) MO cant even reach the 10 year old Arsheron's Call - Darktide to its knees. And on top of it all, its not even listed as an option!? while WAR, Aion and WoW pride the poll in its full pride and fail. Atleast put up an "other" option! |

you have obviously never played DF and if you had you probably only played for one day LOL, I could go buy WoW right now play one day and say it sucks too vanilla WoW was good but now its crap I could never go back I'm currently playing DF and its the best out there and this expansion is just making it 10x as epic so end of discussion no skill required in WoW auto target shit is gay |
