Isn't that what was going to kill us all in the 80'S?

I'd be a bit more worried about Godzilla if I were you. Man made pollution makes him kind of pissy.

Lol beats me but it basically acts as a circuit breaker against global warming. Mother Earth has ways to deal with excess warmth. Bascially it is one more thing that debunks global warming in favor of the climate change argument.

Again, every liberal democrat and idiotic politician thought that the human race was so powerful that we could affect the climate of the whole fucking world.  Surprise surprise we were not the whole entire reason.

It's funny that idiots thought humans could affect the climate of the whole world but are not capable of making or own decisions on health care and needed the government to step in and fix it for us because they fucked the whole thing and regulated it to shit.

Anyone that caught into the whole global warming idea is a egotistacal dipshit.

I think it worth sumerising a few facts at this point.

The majoraty of the worlds scientists agree that climate change is real and man is having an effect [not the sole cause as put foward by some hence the change in name].

This scandal Effects the reputation of British science not the whole worlds.

Some if not all the leaked E-Mails are being taken out of contest by climat changes enermies and certain political groups and buisness lobbies

A known climate change critic is calling for a full and transparent investigation in this subjects to assertain the truth, so a whitewash is less likely if the investigation gets the green light [and i hope it does].

Another great example of Moore's Law. Give people access to that much space (developers and users alike) and they'll find uses for it that you can never imagine. "640K ought to be enough for anybody" - Bill Gates 1981

I'd prefer to think it affects the reputation of Anglia Universtiy. A universtiy who's reputation has always been very poor and never one particulalry associated with science.

(Let's face it NASA's scientific reputation isn't very good at this point either).

I would concur that most scientists agree that man's pollution is having an affect on the climate. But I think it's a large stretch to say "the" consensus see man made global warming as a serious threat. A consensus, yes, but not "the consensus". I don't recognise any consensus here at all. In fact i think it is one of the more divisive and contentious scientific issues of the day.

Most certainly the anti-global warming faction (of which i count myself one) are milking this one for all it's worth and a large element of sensationalism is involved.

Still, it's one the eye for climate-clowns. One they sorely deserve.

Dear Sir:

Thank you for your latest submission to the Institute, labeled “211-D, layer seven, next to the clothesline post. Hominid skull.” We have given this specimen a careful and detailed examination, and regret to inform you that we disagree with your theory that it represents “conclusive proof of the presence of Early Man in Charleston County two million years ago.” Rather, it appears that what you have found is the head of a Barbie doll, of the variety one of our staff, who has small children, believes to be the “Malibu Barbie”. It is evident that you have given a great deal of thought to the analysis of this specimen, and you may be quite certain that those of us who are familiar with your prior work in the field were loathe to come to contradiction with your findings. However, we do feel that there are a number of physical attributes of the specimen which might have tipped you off to it’s modern origin:

1. The material is molded plastic. Ancient hominid remains are typically fossilized bone.
2. The cranial capacity of the specimen is approximately 9 cubic centimeters, well below the threshold of even the earliest identified proto-hominids.
3. The dentition pattern evident on the “skull” is more consistent with the common domesticated dog than it is with the “ravenous man-eating Pliocene clams” you speculate roamed the wetlands during that time. This latter finding is certainly one of the most intriguing hypotheses you have submitted in your history with this institution, but the evidence seems to weigh rather heavily against it. Without going into too much detail, let us say that:
1. The specimen looks like the head of a Barbie doll that a dog has chewed on.
2. Clams don’t have teeth.

It is with feelings tinged with melancholy that we must deny your request to have the specimen carbon dated. This is partially due to the heavy load our lab must bear in it’s normal operation, and partly due to carbon dating’s notorious inaccuracy in fossils of recent geologic record. To the best of our knowledge, no Barbie dolls were produced prior to 1956 AD, and carbon dating is likely to produce wildly inaccurate results. Sadly, we must also deny your request that we approach the National Science Foundation’s Phylogeny Department with the concept of assigning your specimen the scientific name “Australopithecus spiff-arino.” Speaking personally, I, for one, fought tenaciously for the acceptance of your proposed taxonomy, but was ultimately voted down because the species name you selected was hyphenated, and didn’t really sound like it might be Latin.

However, we gladly accept your generous donation of this fascinating specimen to the museum. While it is undoubtedly not a hominid fossil, it is, nonetheless, yet another riveting example of the great body of work you seem to accumulate here so effortlessly. You should know that our Director has reserved a special shelf in his own office for the display of the specimens you have previously submitted to the Institution, and the entire staff speculates daily on what you will happen upon next in your digs at the site you have discovered in your back yard. We eagerly anticipate your trip to our nation’s capital that you proposed in your last letter, and several of us are pressing the Director to pay for it. We are particularly interested in hearing you expand on your theories surrounding the “trans-positating fillifitation of ferrous ions in a structural matrix” that makes the excellent juvenile Tyrannosaurus rex femur you recently discovered take on the deceptive appearance of a rusty 9-mm Sears Craftsman automotive crescent wrench.

I fixed that for you. Oh and, real societal progress that ironically included pollution reduction and improved MPG was withheld because of this entire lie. Maybe you remember me complaining about so called hybrids that can only get top 20-30 MPG when twenty year old cars has that beat. They just weren't popular at the time they were produced because MPG wasn't a gimmick.

When MPG became the gimmick they decided to start doling out bread crumbs to maximise profits, to keep the string of "Even more MPG!" and "Hybrid!" fresh in their commercials.

I am curious as to when believing that humans are having a negative impact on our planet's climate became a "liberal" position.

Tell you what, do me a favor. Go stand in your closed garage and run your car for a few minutes.

No, don't! Don't do that! You want to know why? BECAUSE YOU COULD FUCKING DIE, THAT'S WHY.

Now, just putting two and two together, doesn't it seem like the less of that shit we're spewing into the atmosphere (along with a metric fuckton of other deadly chemicals), then the better?

Understanding and recognizing the ramifications of the systematic rape of the environment since the industrial revolution is neither a "liberal" or "conservative" position, you hacks.

So I started to walk into the water. I won't lie to you boys...I was terrified. But I pressed on, and as I made my way past the breakers, a strange calm came over me. I don't know if it was divine intervention or the kinship of all living things, but I tell you, Jerry, at that moment ... I was a marine biologist.

Justification is an event. Sanctification is a process.

“Warmists” have room to celebrate… in an ironic sort of way. “Man-made” global warming indeed appears to have been confirmed. As put so indelicately to the “warmist” earsin a paper released yesterday by Climate Science Coalition:

QUOTE: "We have discovered that the warming in New Zealand over the past 156 years was indeed man-made, but it had nothing to do with emissions of CO2—it was created by man-made adjustments of the temperature. It’s a disgrace."

Yes, folks… in addition to the unintended and embarrassing release of internal emails and data from CRU discussing their deliberate data manipulation to “hide the decline” of temperatures over the past weekend, now there is a second climate change group –NIWA (New Zealand’s National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research) – under assault for manipulating temperature measurements.

iwishart over at TBR.cc has the latest breaking news.

The New Zealand Government’s chief climate advisory unit NIWA is under fire for allegedly massaging raw climate data to show a global warming trend that wasn’t there.

The scandal breaks as fears grow worldwide that corruption of climate science is not confined to just Britain’s CRU climate research centre.

On the heels of the exploding and expanding reach of fudged climate data. James Delingpole reports on the stunning resignations of 5 Australian MPs in protest over Australia’s version of Cap & Steal called Emission Trading Scheme (ETS). Heh, at least the Aussies had the intestinal fortitude to label it a scheme.

ABC news reports that five frontbenchers from Australia’s opposition Liberal party have resigned their portfolios rather than follow their leader Malcolm Turnbull in voting with Kevin Rudd’s Government on a new Emissions Trading Scheme.

The Liberal Party is in turmoil with the resignations of five frontbenchers from their portfolios this afternoon in protest against the emissions trading scheme.

Tony Abbott, Sophie Mirabella, Tony Smith and Senators Nick Minchin and Eric Abetz have all quit their portfolios because they cannot vote for the legislation.

Senate whip Stephen Parry has also relinquished his position.

Like Cap & Steal, this scheme from Down Under will cause severe damage to the industrial and mining businesses in order to save the unwashed masses from rampaging anthropogenic global warming

I applaud their courageous and principled stand against environazi bullying.
