Somebody posted it here. It will eventually find its way to the Aion forums, like these threads always do. Moderation is a bit light during EU working hours from what I've seen. If you remember in other occasions spammers were running rampant with carbon copy posts at this time. I could be wrong of course. Do you know what this and the similar threads on this issue reminded me of? The reaction of the mmorpg.com community towards Cataclysm. A few fans were hailing the changes soon to come, buried in mountains of biter and dismissing comments. I hope you're not blinded enough by Aion hate to not spot the similarities. I still don't see why any WoW fan would be threatened by Aion. It is pretty obvious after watching this video, that the Aion developers are not worried about WoW, but about the new FF game (hints of a much more open and explorable environment) and Tera (upgraded graphics engine). It seem to me that way. |

Yea. Looks lovely, but that's it.
Maybe they will bring out another video at some point addressing the problems and not a fluff video. |

How exactly are they going to demonstrate in a video shrinkage of the botters population or the resolution of the .dll issue? People want something but don't have a clue on how to ask for it. They can of course announce it, like na.aiononline.com/forums/general/view. But of course you can dismiss it as a publicity trick. |

It is a personal preference of course, but for me Aion and LOTRO stand out as my top favorite MMOs at this point in time. Emphasis on "personal preference" and "this point in time". |

As for the topic, If they can pull something like this off thats great and I am happy for the people who still play Aion. But NEVER put faith into a video, because 9 times out of 10 what you see is hardly what you'd ever get. If anything take AoC as a prime example of a pretty video of promises and the actual package that gets handed to you in the end. |

I tend to think that it is way too premature to get excited over a video. Too many other games showed what is to be only to have things cancelled or delayed. I'll judge them for myself WHEN they do come out. And I never pay attention to Zorn anymore, he's like a televangelist. No matter what truths he comes up with, his demeanor always makes me cringe and doubt his motives. But he loves to see himself post, so more power to him. |

After this, Blizzard should offer Cataclysm for free.

Who says that the changes demonstrated on this video will be offered to the Aion subscribers for free? |

Changes like what they show in the vid would be best served in an expansion format. If you look at how changing whole systems gradually over time in other games caused many issues you would agree as well. |

Wow man some people are just unbelievable, saying Aions xfire numbers are faked, but yet they swear by their games xfire numbers. LOL oh man it just slays me. Then the whole thing about an Aion post being in the Pub kills me to, its not like there isn't other posts about WoW in there either. I think it belongs in General discussion. Yes it could go into Aion's part of the forum but this is some big new and it should be seen by everyone not just the people that only look at the Aion forums. I say let more people have a chance to see this game, just because you didn't like it doesn't mean someone else won't. I guess people are just so scared of their game getting knocked down a notch that they will bitch about anything. Its sad really, but its just some peoples nature to bring other people down so they can feel better. Yeah the game may have some similarities to WoW but WoW had a lot of similarities to other games before its time. If this expansion or whatever comes out before FFXIV then I might just have to check out this game, maybe they will have a free trial by then. |

It is a publicity trick, because they can ban all they want. As long as their game client's security is a total joke and so easily hackable. 16.000 new botters and cheaters are back in bussiness the day after. And seeing this video, then you know where NCSoft Korea their priorities lies. They never bothered fixing their client's security in their lineage games and just dumped GameGuard on it. It ain't any different for AION, as the Korean and Chinese clients are still running GameGuard. That NCWest removed GameGuard (not that it was doing any good anyway), that is their problem. NC Korea (HQ) can't be arsed with that. If NCWest screws up, some pigeon from Korea just comes over and pulls out the AXE and swings around in the West office. Just like they did after Tabula Rasa flopped. |

Then, frankly, you are not even honest with yourself. Gaming options don't even matter apparently. Future of MMO's in the hands of a Korean copycat and then take a dive quickly behind another scapegoat to hide behind their fans.
{mod edit} Your speculations based off of Amazon and Xfire numbers aren't exactly the best information you've put forth yourself. On top of that, Aion is successful because plenty people are playing the game, though the definition of success in an MMO market is different to everybody. Also just so you know, even though Blizzard made their own protection system, it sucked dick in the beginning. That doesn't mean I like Gameguard, because it blows too. Just because a game has mediocre protection doesn't make the game itself bad.

That's my response for the other thread before it got locked.
"IRL is a pretty upstanding MMO with thousands of classes, a lot of PvP and even some pretty unique emotes and titles you can acquire. Explore that world first, then we'll talk about this virtual one." |

@Guillermo197 It's more of a public announcement for those people that need to hear the developers say to them that they care. As far as I'm concerned, I don't need them to say anything, just do their part. The sad part from this whole affair is that even these publicity inspired efforts will be dismissed by the bitter crowd, instead of hailed as the first of the many steps towards the right direction. |

Maybe because they did these exact same "publicity stunt" mass bans in their Lineage games before? And we all know where these games stand today don't we. Just saying. That's why I take these public announcements from NCSoft with a grain of salt. |

Now I'm impressed. Though I still won't play the game, , what that video shows is why so many played L2 at launch and for years. It is awesome to see NcSoft get back to their roots in pushing development to it's limits . Turbine has a long road , but I'm cofident with dx11 , Turbine will be able compete with Korea. Think WoW will be taking a big hit from this , a very big hit, up to about 2.5 million players world wide is my prediction, just from watching this video/ |

Let me start by saying that im not a Aion fan nor a NCsoft fan, but when/if they pull this off i'll be happy for them/you. When/if its all there, fixed, polished, tweaked, i might be interested becouse it looks amazing and makes your jaw drop right off the bat.
