There's no need to shoot him down. Newbs such as myself and others who are potentially interested in the game could find stories like this interesting and/or fun. I know I ended up subbing to DFO because of posts like this. New people sharing their experiences in a new, dangerous world.

Totally agree! I just started 2 days ago and I am really enjoying the game. Total breath of fresh air coming from the world of theme park gaming. Loving the skill based system, fighting, loot system, mob AI, etc. Who knows how I will feel a month from now, but so far its cool.

sorry, but i wont go for a game that had one of the worst ever reviews and very poor feedback from players when it was released that went on for several months. I aint goign to say this or that about it, but just those have put me off. The only way i may go for it is with sort sort of free game trial (10-14 days free play) so one could take a first hand look at it. However we all know that will never happen, i dont really care what players say about the game thesedays as the damage has already been done.

I know I was abit harsh. its not that I dont expect him to be excited by this. boy I was probably evenmore excited when I got my first set of bone armour, but I didn't make a thread. the guy seems to want to update this whole forum with every minor detail that happens to him ingame. please just make less pointless threads, this thread sounded more like boasting that informative to me. so why not just show off stuff you looted in race alliance chat or something?

He's not posting for you.  If you don't want to hear about his adventures, don't read his posts.  You don't have to thread crap all over the place because you feel that you don't need to read what someone else wrote.  It's like being in public and you overhear what someone else is saying.  Do you go up to them and tell them how pointless their conversation is? 

I appreciate what the OP has done; he's sharing his experience.  That's all.  It's not nearly as bad as some people on social networking sites that really do update their status every 15 minutes.

The more I hear about Darkfall, the more I'm willing to give it a go.

We are suppose to talk about the game here, and preferable our ingame experiences and views about it. That is exactly what the OP did. And i enjoyed reading it.

 I don't even play the game yet I find these stories interesting.

OK man I'll try and explain what I'm doing since I don't believe you've understood what it is. If you read the original post it seems to you like a pretty dull description of a less than stellar PvP encounter, right? Imagine you're looking at the DFO forums and have never played the game but are interested, however you're not sure about PvP mechanics and exactly how they might work. Well someone could sit down and list off the rules like a computer so that you now have a shopping list of PvP rules, pretty uninspiring, right? Also many people will forget that quickly as those sort of things like shopping lists don't remain in your memory for very long, whereas a story will.

My OP describes mechanics regarding towers, finishing the opponent (gank), alignment, looting, mounts, gear and a few other things. It doesn't lay it down like a list of rules and is probably very foggy and undefined in areas, but it's more likley to be remembered and give some sort of vague outline when/if the reader plays DFO. Whereas the shopping list would more than likley be forgotten, also how did you come to remember the mechanics of PvP or sieging? Did you read a list of rules and write them down and keep them by your side as you played? Or was it by trial and error, playing the game and asking your clan mates?

Although you may disagree I believe telling a short story like this helps give the potential player some idea of PvP rules that may stick in their minds for a while. Also they may read it and say to themselves "That sounds quite exciting!". I accept this post isn't very interesting for you, but it wasn't aimed at you since you already understand the mechanics of the game better than I and have had more exciting experiences. So maybe if we pulled together there might be a few more players after this expansion, I'd appreciate reading your experiences and you have to agree it'd be far more constructive than beating me (another DFO player) down?

Its pretty fucking sad when you have a bunch of frothing at the mouth, wild-eyed zealots that can't even let people talk about how much they LIKE df without being shot down for not posting something hardcore enough...

Typical... DF and WoW have a lot in common community wise... I knew WoW would be total shit because of the Battlenet retard kiddies who would be playing it... the Forumfall official forums clued me, and a lot of people, into the same kinda crap that happened with DF's "community"...

Yea, this game is fun. Especially when you manage to get someone killed and take all their stuff.
But the fun ends when it happens to you. That's what a lot of people don't realize and I experienced this first hand.

After 4 hours of gameplay, I had all of my main armor slots full, I was having fun. Then I go out to do a quest and I'm ganked by two people that appear to have really good gear (I was killed within a few seconds) only to go back to my gravestone and realize EVERYTHING I had was gone. Just so some ass can sell my stuff for a max of 30-40g on a merchant.

I know the game is based off this and it's not for carebears. But allowing people with really good gear to kill people that finally learned how to play the game decently and get some decent gear is annoying. It'd be nice if AV would give all new players a 12 hour (or short/longer) period where they couldn't be killed.

It's 3:30am here and I'm tired, so if anything I said is incomprehensible, I'll blame it on that. =P

ild bet my 6 month sub darkfall account he does go up to people in public and listen to their convos and then tell them theyre being pointless if he doesnt like what he hears

hey kril ill put it to ya like this, im 2 days into df and i havent risked any gear i didnt want to lose, i went out naked harvesting ect doing quests that required harvested materials for money, even found a couple chaos chests in the wee am and banked the money i found, soon i had armor and weapon crafting skills, these i use to make the harvest mats into sets of armor and weapons that actually give skill up and i go out to work on the goblin scouts thusly.  even if i die and lose my tombstoned stuff its not the end of the world, heck i dont even lose anything i dont have 10 more of in the bank =D  such is the way of darkfall and eve, if you dont have 10 ready to lose, dont risk it.

I'm not sure where to put the screenies I take in game, but in our most recent siege that happened on the 7th day my account was active (yesterday) I came out of it with 3 battle bags with full bone armor, rank 65 greataxes, rank 40/50 shields and 1handers, some rank 80 staves, and some sweet bows, not to mention a whole pooload of regs and arrows. This is ontop of the 3 battle bags I made by harvesting, killing, and from help by clanmates.

In short: Full loot is awesome, clans are awesome, getting a bank filled with a hoard of treasure is awesome. I. Love. Darkfall. Agricola your posts are sweet, mainly because I can compare them to my first week and we both started around the same time. Keep on keepin' on.

What city is your clan occupying in on the EU server?
