Of the games I listed I have active characters in two of them.  One of the games I listed is still my favourite PvP game.
But I am a Fan, not a Fanboi, which means that I am still realistic about the game and its problems.

For some, why do you think AOC will die? Why would game as that good just vanish? ...

It has nothing to do with the game.  It has everything to do with the financial state of the company owning and running it.

If FUNCOM goes 'broke' the fate of the games it owns and runs will have nothing to do with how 'good' they are.
Do you think all the creditors and accountants (receivers) will just play a few hours of AoC and then say "Oh, okay.  That's a good game.  Forget about the money you owe?"

FWIW Paradox Interactive owns the IP to AoC IIRC?  If FUNCOM goes broke then Paradox may have final say.

There are a couple of new titles on the horizon that will fold before any of those mentioned here.

WAR or Alganon

As for darkfall we must wait and see if the new expansion ro whatever it is will help the game first.

Meh I honestly think its the other way around...with the expansions and patches the game receives better reviews, and its a much much better game than at release. Just recently the rating has gone up on mmorpg.com

Darkfall gets my vote.

I think Vanguard. Dont like to see it go, but looking at the amount of updates/bugfixes and lack of active community websites, it just cant be that long anymore. Unless SOE keeps it just for the station account.

Nope. Still healthy. It's got plenty of players, F2P or not and it's been running that way long enough that if they wanted to shut it down, they would have.

Yeah, I agree. Especially since the insolvency of 10tacle and the various billing issues with their payment provider, it doesn't look very good. You can't even do the free trial right now. The player base was never very large to begin with. It's slowly dwindling away, I can imagine.

Actually it's in closed beta and from what I heard from my fellow players, the population is looking better than ever. =]

Yeah, and they've made some nice changes that I think you might like when it's open beta, but it's hush hush, I can't say anything. OH! My other post has a little info though. xD

I read a lot of good things about Alganon before I had taken a proper look at it, it at first sounded on paper like a really serious contender for a future hit, then however I took a long look at it & it's really the very worst carbon-clone of WoW I've yet seen, they copy pasted the UI...zero effort to even alter it's artistic appearance to fit in with it's own universe/flavor.....h wait, no point because everything else is ripped out of WoW too, hell even the world map made me do a double-take to see if I was looking at WoW or Alganon in a screenshot.

When you think Dave had been at the helm of the probably over-ambitious Horizons & then does a complete 180 to churn out this carbon-copy garbage I have to think something inside the man's head got broken, he truly does appear to believe the BS he's talking, why try to make a WoW game when there is already a hugely siccessful one on the market, had the game been a F2P offerring it might have made some sense, snagging the "I want a F2P WoW" crowd that definitely does exist in the market.

So for all those reasons I think Alganon will hit the skids shortly after release, it just lacks way too much, copies too much, & offers too little "newness" to seperate it out for even being a niche title.

I think SWG will get canned once TOR is on the shelves, or shortly after & once DCUO is out CO will likely fold as it bleeds out subs & Cryptic focus hard on makig STO it's main breadwinner, aiming to have 1 success in it's stable rather than 2 failures.

I'm worried about Funcom's titles with the way they have been hitting huge losses & are predicting even more losses next quarter, I hope that trend bottoms out rather than continues to decline or TSW wont see the light of day.
