I noticed the vet return offer in my e-mail today for a 14 day free trial, I have not played since launch and figured I would give it another go. I got to level 44, and quit because of the lack of content/quests at upper levels. I have a few questions since I am downloading the game again now(I have the cd's but it turns out to be the same length because of patches). I figured I would start over again instead of continuing where I left off as I would have no clue what to do since it's been so long. Is there more quests now level 40+, enough to get to 80 without grinding? Also I have read some posts about lack of players on servers, not sure what server I was on at the time but what would be a good high population PVP server to roll on? Just want to get the best experience I can so maybe I can keep playing after the 14 days, I believe I was a Barbarian and this time kind of want to roll a mage type class. |

50+ You can go to Ymir's Pass. Bunch of quests in there which can get you to 60 to do Amphitheater there. Your first time there will blow you away. That's a pretty fun dungeon. But to answer your question, yes there is plenty of quests now that you don't have to grind Villas anymore to level. Since you want to try a pvp server I can't answer that question since I play on a PvE server. Hopefully someone will chime in that plays on a pvp server. .. .... .- - . - .-. --- .-.. .-.. ... .-- .... --- .-. . .--. --- .-. - .-.-.- |

yes there are enough quests to keep you going now, however it does require you doing one of two things : - doing group dungeons - doing the quests in the ressource zones at any rate, neither of these will be mandatory now since you'll be using the double xp potion (type /claim) which you can claim again and again until end of November. This will significantly increase the speed at which you level. Keep in mind the xp is capped and so it is much more interesting to grind your level mobs and below (green quests and yellow quests). As to server, depends on which side of the ocean you are. |

Well I have been trying to play the last few days, and now there seems to be random freezes. Specifically when opening inventory or accessing new places I have yet to see. The freezes last anywhere from 5 seconds - 1 minutes, this seems ridiculous as last I played at launch it didn't freeze like this(not from what I remember, I just quit for lack of content). I am trying a program called AoC Download Cache which is suppose to fix these "freezes. " They seem to be caused by missing data, and I guess AoC is always streaming missing data to the client. It seems quite a few others have this issue as well, so far that application has not helped. This is bad, I was at least expecting me to able to play the game. Though the freezes do let up after keeping the client running for a while. So on my return only complaint so far is this issue, which I don't understand why Funcom would set it up this way. I'll let the 14 days expire before I judge to harshly, and hope the download cache will improve this issue(only 5% download at the moment of missing data). A simple fix from Funcom would be to allow the "Full" client download(even though it would be around 25gb).
Other complaints I see people with are lack of players, which is just not true. I am playing on Cimmeria and see players everywhere(on my level 9 PoM/Necro I just started, and the 44 Barbarian on Tyranny). So not sure why so many complaints about population, unless the level 80 crowd is what players are talking about. Anyways having fun, just wish the frequent freezes would stop(if they do get resolved I will happily resub at this point). |

Good to hear about the no population issues on Cimmeria from your experiences. Reaffirms against those that have a different opinion who lets say played when you played and once earlier on at the start of the year and yet beg to differ from not having first hand experience. Still remains that some servers are better than others though.

ive downloaded AOC and never played it because it took longer then expected but i population is well at hand and the expansion should give people a reason to come back like me. |

Well the game has come a long ways in a lot of aspects since I played at launch, however the "frequent freezes" are to much to handle for me so I wont be resubbing right now. Downloaded up to about 80% of the "data" files and the issue still exists, I may try again later down the line if I get offered another trial. But to me right now it feels unplayable :(. |
