My fondest memories in an MMO have been in Asheron's Call. I loved how monarchies worked together. I'm looking for a game that has something similar to the patron:vassal relationship(Patron takes vassal under their wing and helps them progress and in return as the vassal levels up, it gives the patron experience). This really pushes the community to help people get better at the game, i really miss that. I also miss the power that monarchies had, open world pvp with claimed territories. Anyone know any games that are similar to what I'm talking about? I really just want to play a game with a friendly community and some pvp with real reputation and skill... |

That sounds cool. I missed DAoC also. Would love to see something like that again, hopefully with more than 2 playable factions. |

Darkfall, no feudal mechanic that give skill but you can control hamlets that pay tribute to your clan.

Read my posty...perhaps if you have time...skip to pvp. I would enjoy a pvp setting like this http://www.mmorpg.com/discussion2.cfm/thread/259973/The-MMORPG-to-Rule-Them-All.html |

I had forgotten about the patron system, it was a nice idea. But to stop power levelling you would need a rule that if the patron was grouped with the apprentice no xp would go up the chain. Alternatively how about apprentices giving their patron the equivalent of a buff? |

If you are interested in sc-fi then Eve on-line has good pvp and requires various lvls of co-op from small gang warfare with numbers running from 2 to 10 or 15 players to massive fleets running up to 200+ pilots. Add in to that territorial game play where corps and alliance capture entire areas of space that needs defending etc. It whats you want down to a T, if you like scifi. |
