It seems the patch every player was waiting finally arrived.

From today on the grind in Aion is greatly diminished since a great number of quests above lvl 20 had their experience increased as well as the normal mobs.

New measures against gold spammers and bots are also there, not to mention that several NCSoft GM's have been banning several bots in game on the last few days.

For everyone that claimed Aion was to much of a grind there it is, not anymore. At least not like it used to be

I personally never thought it was a grind to begin with, players just form way too many false expectations these days and when those expectations are not met they cry foul.

Aions "grind" in its original form was not even worth mentioning, hell I've "ground" more time away playing old Final Fantasy games than it would take me to hit the level cap in Aion.

Grinding has been a part of RPGs since the inception of the genre itself, even in PnP gaming you had to "grind" exp from monster kills and encounters, etc...

I often wonder why people complain about having to invest a significant amount of time into something in order to get a significant level of entertainment from it in return. You wouldn't apply for a new job, in a field you are unfamiliar with, and demand top wages right off the bat.

The same story applies here, and the bottom line is that in any game where you have PvP as a focus whiners are going to cry in an attempt to have things made easier, so they can get to cap and "pwn" faster.

Just another byproduct of an instant gratification craving generation, I suppose.

Well i was excited to see the changes the patch would bring but  the servers are down still, at least in the EU. I don't know if US servers are up yet but the EU servers have been down since 11 a.m. GMT (it's now 18:38 GMT). Had a whole day off work and thought woo! i'll try and get my grind on and get a couple levels. But no. no no no no no no. Servers had to be down all day.

A pity...  I liked the grind, the idea that you had to work for your levels.  But like so many times in the past, you get the moaners and the developers eventually give in and gives everyone an easy ride.  :(

But eventually it happens from UO: the creation of Trammel, to making the grinds easier in FFXI, WOW, Aion and so on...  I think what annoys me and others, is before the patch people worked harder for there status than after.  Just seems rather unfair, and is making me reconsider committing to this game.  Who knows what radical changes they'll make in the future?

So, you think you dont want to keep playing because if the leveling is faster you dont get so much status for leveling up?

Isnt that moaning also for not having so much grind, at the same level of those who moaned because there was to much grind?

If one if you guys quit and felt like the games was some kind of "shallow hardcore grind" for godknows what you did wrong....:

Dont reactivate you account yet, but listen to the reviews of the current player in the next days. Most people overrated the changes while simply lacking information and just saw "quest that give 2-5 times the xp reward"  .

From alll that is currently known the xp change is infact not that big actually and wont be that much noticeable if the currently known changes are all that has been changed. The last time i counted just about ~130 out of about 530 quest after 30 have been changed, but we dont know anything about the rest of them. They might not have changed at all. +100% extra xp for the average might sound high but not if if might just be for about a fifth of all quests.

So instead of reactivation - ossibly dissapointing reality  - quit - lots of QQ in the forum just shut it and inform youself in first place what are you going to play.

Same goeas for botbanning. Who says it keeps on. Instead of complaining about them again next week just wait a week and confirm they are actually doing something.

Yes I suppose I am moaning.  I am annoyed that a game I was enjoying from the start is begining to change to the eventual point where is loses it challenges.  Personally the 'other moaners' that don't like how Aion is done should try a different game surley?  It's like blaming a Beat-Em-Up game for not having racing.

well they are updating eu servers for 9hours and counting. army of bots everywhere, goldsellers in every vilage, city in crowds with their private shops, no opacity to chat window, no quests that can keep u leveling up ( there is one quest and its 100 repetition) so Im lvl 29 for over 2months because im not pvp player nor idiot whos loving to do one quest 100times over and ver again to get 50k XP.

the point is: ncsoft anounced the Guild Wars 2 in 2011 because they want to keep their "gold mine" AION active for a while. well ncoft u know, f**k the AION!!! finish guild wars 2 and bring it on 2010 1st quartal!!! omg..u can keep ur asian aion crap.

People troll these forums and make up cr*p out of their a**es to troll the actual playerbase and Aion in general for more than a year now on their multiple accounts on pretty much daily basis.

Its not like a few "prepared" extra accounts to make your rant appear "more believeable" would be that suprising.

Well, I cant understand why these type of players play Aion.  But they do, and I suppose you get them in every game.

I never visit forums much, because I am usually spending most of my Internet time playing the game I love.  Only reason I have been here today is the servers are currently down.

Pretty big patch from the big list of that link someone earlier posted.

Now I know why I took this long to release.
