Hey all I am going to give Vanguard a try since its bascally the only p2p mmo i've never played yet. Whats a good solo class to be since I doubt many people will be at low level. Also whats a good populated server to go on? I've heard of the games population problems so I'm curious. |

Love is where you give, |
Necro is a soloing machine. |

Every class is doing pretty good except warrior, rogue and sorcerer. If you want lots of mitigation and a bit of self-healing with moderate DPS: Dreadknight, Disciple, Cleric, Paladin, Tanking Shaman If you want to kite a lot (slow/root mobs and run around in haste + dots) go for Druid, Ranger, Psionicist If you want high dps with low mitigation go for Monk or Bard, Necromancer, Blood Mage. I would rule out warrior, rogue and sorcerer for the first char, especially when you plan to focus on solo.

Disciple is the god class in the game right now. You can take on a lot of group encounters with it. |

Any class can solo. Although, the Necromancer is my personal favorite. You won't have any trouble solo with that class. As for a server, i'm from the EU, so Halgar is my server. Its very active. Loads of players around the 15-30 mark right now which is nice. Also almost every level 55 have multiple alts of all levels they want to group with so if your from the EU, or play EU times, i suggest you play on Halgar. |

I did a lot of soloing with my Psionicist. Very tricky, but with a good grasp of all the abilities a Psi has, they can be very, very effective solo'ers. 1-man dungeon crawls are even possible at the higher levels, but you've got to use every crowd-control tool available to you. I did a lot of soloing with my Bloodmage. Doable, but pretty slow. Sorcs can solo easy and just become absolutely brutal at level 55. |

My paladin and dread knight solo very well. |

I didn't have too much trouble on my druid. In fact, VG's druid is the best druid class I've played out of the MMOs I've tried. Current: DFO |

Another vote for necro. Also one of the best pet classes in any game, IMHO. The pathing for pets is very good in this game. ------------- Belief is for those who don't know. |

While warrior and rogue are poor soloing class, sorcerer however is the best kiting class. If you want to level from 50-55 fast, brotherhood with a sorcerer, and they'll get you there in no time kiting rhinos in KDQ. That being said, the class revampe for sorcerer are upcoming, and developer might decide to tune the sorcs down a notch. |

I highly recommend you take a look at the Dwarf Cleric, tougher than nails that guy. |

From what i recall in VG all the classes i tried could solo well. Rogues allow u to pick and choose ur targets well and can generally destroy their initial target before they can counter well and then u can proceed to ne others nearby. From what i gather its just a matter of making use of the classes abilities. I personally favor the Dreadknight, ranger and rogue followed by warrior. Dreadknights are just badass and have a good range of skills, spells for buff/debuff, life tap capability, attacks to flank with. and tough. rangers can fight and destroy things in either melee or range, its truly a fun class. All and all try sampling ne of the classes that appeal to you, im sure you'll find something u like. Then just learn what the given strengths and such of the class are and eventually you'll work out an effective solo routine. Enjoy the game ^ ^

My personal favorite combo is disciple and sorcerer. You get a healer that can easily function as a tank to the sorc way up until mid 40's and the sorc adding incredible dps to boost. Holding agro is a non issue if the sorcerer plays right Other good combinations are as follows
Shaman/Disciple/Cleric + Paladin/Warrior/Dread Knight Disciple/Cleric + Bard/Ranger Disciple + Sorcerer/Necro/Psionicist/Druid
My personal opinion is if you want to duo more than the easy solo quests and some small group quests you will really need some form of healing and tanking.

Classes I liked playing the most but wouldn't recommend as starting characters:

Thanks for the help. The VG and LOTRO communities have been the best I have interacted with. I appreciate the help. |

Make sure that if you upgrade from trial to full that you type in /claim, you get an awesome GM bag that helps out alot. Also you get a pair of rocket shoes that give you like 250 armor and you can right click it to escape some tough situations. I have played for about 3 weeks now on Xeth as a Warrior and have solo'ed about 95% of the time. It does have some challenges(died here and there) but doesn't seem too bad for soloing as long as you don't get in over your head(3 or more 3 circle guys). I guess just starting out you can take a spin on different race/class combos until you find the ones you like. Stay on the Isle of Dawn with all your guys as long as you can, and you will get a nice start to whichever one you decide to make your main character. The community is very friendly but sometimes quiet. If you have to play with groups all the time or always need people to talk to, you might get a little disappointed. If you like a mix of the two or just going through big areas exploring around and discovering cool things, you should have a blast here. |

I played disciple, bard and necro. Disciple is the best solo class hands down. YOu need to rely on fear as a necro which is not an option in dungeons. As disc you just pull anything including bosses, beat the crap out of them and go further withough any downtime. But I loved all 3 classes. Actually any class in VG is very well made |

I agree with the last part of the end statement, from what ive experienced myself in game all the classes of VG are well done and all are very enjoyable to play, at least all that i sampled. I stick by my personal favorites DK, melee ranger(usin minor ranged for sniping) and rogue/warrior. All in all, great game, enjoy :D |

I use to actually think advanced graphics made a game great. |
Warrior is a good solo class/snickers. |
|
Disciple,Necro,Shaman(i prefer bear form),Druid,Ranger(if you kite),Bloodmage (works, but has to low armor),cleric. then there is 3 more classes, but they have not been released. |

I enjoyed my ranger back when I used to play. If you’re into kiting I'd say the Ranger is the best solo class for you. I could kill 4 dot mobs 2-4 levels higher than me at level 44. |
