Remember back when Transformers first came out. They sold out quickly and were hard to come by. Out came all the poor imitations, in particular when the Dinobots first arrived they sold out everywhere. I went to a local bargain store and noticed all these imitation dinobots. Looked exactly the same as the real toys but they were no name yet less then half the price. Bugged my parents and bought one, I didn't care if it was an imitation I wanted the dinobot so badly. Get it out of the box, begin to change it from the dinosaur to robot... it breaks. It looked the same yet it was anything but, original dinobots were well made with some steel and hard plastic. This entire fake was all plastic that was brittle. I got my money back. Now take that into consideration when you read all the comparisons of this game to WOW. It looks like WOW, it tries to borrow from WOW as they claim, probably hoping that will lure you in but let me tell you this it is anything but WOW. I'm no WOW fanboy, I don't even play it anymore but I did beta test WOW when it went open beta and this game is nowhere near as polished. I tried to look at it without thinking of WOW but there it was upon logging in. Everything reminded me of WOW except it was like playing a laggy, buggy, crashing once in awhile incomplete version of WOW. This game is supposed to be released soon ? The animations were horrible although the environment looked nice. I went exploring but grew bored after the first zone I entered looked exactly like the barrens, then I arrived at a village that looked exactly like the crossroads... Anyways that was probably the shortest beta test I've participated in before uninstalling it.

That's actually a really good way of putting it! Well done, if a bit too rant-ish. Oh, and Allods may borrow heavily from WoW, but at least it's got a few original ideas, a nice art style, and is more polished in closed beta than Alganon will probably be at launch. Plus, it's free. So nobody's out forty bucks + monthly fees if it crashes & burns. Which is the real issue; Alganon probably wouldn't get so much flak if it were F2P. Westwood Studios, Bullfrog Productions, Origin Systems, Pandemic Studios, Maxis, and Bioware. What do all of these fine game studios have in common? They made innovative, fun, and popular games. They were communicative with fans and greatly appreciated them. Also, they were all killed by EA. People, for the future of gaming, please do not buy EA products. |

Wow, you made it to the first town in the first zone! Grats! What about the quests? PvP? Crafting? Social? Dungeons? Community? Classes? My impression is that your impression isn't much of an impression. |

Unfortunately my imperession of Alganon is worse than my Impression of Allods which is pretty p poor. Client kept crashing on me, and the text seemed like it was made for viewing @ 800x600. No customization options, Poorly done models. I couldn't even bear with it long enough to play. |

There are no dungeons until The Dawning is completed which could take up to 2 months or more. The community is non-existent currently. Yes, they have a social networking site... but if you are playing an MMO, do you really need to social network at the same time? If so, it should be a feature in the game not on an external website. Crafting is exactly like Warcraft. Classes.... well the Soldier is a Warrior, the Healer is a Priest, the Ranger is a Druid and the Magus is a Mage that for some inexplicable reason can tank... Does that cover all the bases? |

This crap won't even install on a machine running win 7, says it needs DX9, when you try and bypass it, it quits, and if you click install, it extracts DX9 and then crashes. YEY!!!! And mind you I've got a few other MMO's and games installed and Nooo... problemos otherwise. That said David Allen is a total hack, for those who remember Horizons way back when the original concept of the game was nothing like the game Istaria is now, the guy literally had thousands upon thousands of people waiting for the thing to change the mmo world. What'd Allen finally release a PvE EQ clone, and a crap one at that, same can be said here. I mean a game thats about to launch and won't even install. You must be joking.... I haven't heard of anything like that since Anarchy Online 1st came out. I'll give it another go on the installation front, and see if I can get it running and give it a go, though I'm really not expecting much. Especially after the Horizons debacle, and some of the reviews coming out about this game. ------- |

Ya know how people sometimes make flash versions of old SNES games? They look the same, but they're not all that smooth and have bugs and errors and clipping issues. This is where Alganon stands against MMOs. It's the cheap flash imitation. And by cheap, I mean they're going to charge the same as the top games in the genre for a shoddy product. This game isn't even fun enough to seriously beta test, let alone buy. Important facts: |

L0L. Algan0n is a j0ke....there is an impressi0n f0r ya. T0 even c0mpair Algan0n t0 All0ds is laughable. By far All0ds is n0where near gr0und breaking in design, but it's very p0lished, very p0lished f0r a f2p mm0. Want a huge sign that let's y0u kn0w h0w bad Algan0n is....there are still alm0st 9,000 beta keys left after a full business week. M0st 0ther MM0's keys w0uld be vap0r by then.

Both games are in Beta. Let me say that again for emphasis: Beta. Impression? What kind of impression can you get from a game that is still in the design and implementation phase? This kind of stuff cracks me up, really it does. I can't imagine someone even thinking they should post something like this because it does NOTHING to further the MMO industry. |

World of Warcraft is to Transformers as Alganon is to Gobots? Don't be terrorized! You're more likely to die of a car accident, drowning, fire, or murder! More people die every year from prescription drugs than terrorism LOL! |

Minor gfx tweaks, Performance tweaks, Load Balancing, Stress test, Also some minor Development and fleshing out. Alganon seems like an Alpha release, Which are mostly feature complete as far as mechanics go but far from feature complete. This is the Phase Design and Implimentation is in along with Pre Alpha. From what I'v seen this game needs at least 6 more months of development to even leave Alpha. |

Welcome to the new age of so called beta. |

Comparing Allods with Alganon is like comparing Dragon Age: Origins with Tetris...
Iwe played Alganon 3 minutes and it was by far worst 3 minutes in a mmorpg i had since i played Dark & Light LOL
The game is total mess, graphic lag is so bad without even any1 beside me...while in Allods iwe had 20 ppl around me all casting and doing stuff and i had 0 lag with all graphics to max.
