Though low frame-rate may be the technical culprit, in embry its likely this posters graphics card is not causing the issue. My reasoning being: I too suffered from "Lag" (to use the incorrect terminology of the poster here) every time i stepped into Embry however, whenever i was in another town, whether it be odenville, pass chris, or even oilville, i was receiving upwards of 40fps at minimum. Mind you when traveling the desert i normally run around 68-70fps. Everytime i would come even close to embry my frame rate would litterally drop to somewhere between 1-5fps. Now i dont have the most "up-to-date" machine but im well within the "recommended" specs running a 2.6ghz dual core, with 4gb Ram, a 1TB Raid 0 config, and a SLI Nvidia 8800GT setup running Win 7 64bit. No matter what i tried (yes I played with the graphics cards outside the game and in) nothing fixed the issue. I tried running without SLI, even tried pulling 1 video card (just to be sure) but the problem persisted. then after this patch, suddenly i can now enter embry and although im not getting 40fps, i am managing about 20-25fps which is playable. That said, i have to state both the above posters are wrong. i dont believe the problem is Low-Framerate in his case, its my belief that embry had some serious memory leaks and the Devs finally started to iron some of them out. Id suggest - if you havent, that you try embry since this latest patch and see if it helped you at all.

Abyss, take a look at my thread regarding trial keys being handed out by the escapist and how to get your hands on one. Rumor has it you can input another trial key onto your current trial account and it will "continue your trial". No guarrantees on the validity of that comment but worth a shot.

If it is texture optimization then why am I not seeing a sudden boost in FPS for all towns? seems oilville etc still run almost identical to what they did prior to the patch and only Embry shows major improvements? To me Texture optimization would have made all the towns run much smoother considering most of the textures found around Embry are the same textures used on the buildings in other towns? Im all ears on hearing whats causing this and wasnt trying to make this an E-Peen waving contest, i was simply stating that I didnt believe the graphics card was the issue, nor network lag, but Memory leaks, or perhaps by your statement "texture optimization", whichever it is (and id like to know so i can correctly state later if needed) im extremely thankfully for it. :)

*sigh* No, it's a good pc. Well, the overheating part is not so great (that's my fault)., but it's a D901C from ibuypower and it's not 2 years old. Anwyhoo, it's not even 2 years old 2 8800gtm cards in sli. I'm open to suggestions, but I can play Eq2, AOC, Vanguard and LOTRO just fine (and on high settings). Believe me when I say, I don't just willy nilly pick am mmo...so I want this game to succeed. |

I quit the game because of the lag in towns. It was unplayable. And yes, its the game's fault. My PC runs any game at top graphics. Conan and otherwise. I hope the fix the lag in Fallen Earth some day. |

WTF does it matter if its lag or low fps? The problem is still there w/e the f*** it is. Call it happy purple roasted frog the f****** problem still exists and nothing changes. My frames per second are slow so my frames per second are LAGGING! Technically what I said is correct but I know being a pompous self righteous f***tard you can't help correcting other people.

I really do love how dedicated the devs are to patching their game and think that every other MMO study could take a lesson in this. Regardless, there are still some issues that I would really love to see resolved and the crafting window is the most important for me personally. Right now there are still issues with miscounts on components so that you may have 10 of something and the recipe window will show that you only have 5 or that you have 20. This needs to be fixed. Also, there are certain recipes that are still bugged so that when you reach the required skill level they remain grayed out so that you still can't make them. Even logging out / in doesn't always fixed either of these issues so I'd love to see the devs get this one figured out. This sentence is false. |

Impressive patch. It looks like they are putting my subscription fee to good use and this makes me happy.
I've noticed a couple little bugs here and there, but not too many really. Also the game is running a little faster now for me, but I switched my antivirus from McAffey to Kaspersky and also have a new hard drive and fresh windows install, so hard to say if one thing helped or a combination. |
