I was NE of Red Moon trying to work on one of the title quests where you have to kill a bunch of kobolds. I had 3 kobolds on me, but I was doing ok. All of the sudden I see an arrow go whizzing right by my face from the left, and I hear heavy footsteps from that direction. I turn and there's a dwarf with what looked like plate armor coming right at me. I tried to run, but didn't have a chance. I think it only took him two hits to bring me down. I was already hurt from the kobolds, but still. He hit hard. He didn't gloat or anything stupid. He killed me and I saw the "death" fade out. I ran back to where he had killed me, found my gravestone and lo and behold he had only taken the arrows. Left everything else including all my gold which probably wasn't that much but was a lot to me. I thanked him, but he didn't respond. A little later, someone else mentioned they had been killed by the same dwarf, and that a bunch of low level crafters were trying to bring him down. This drew the attention of higher levels who started patrolling the area looking for him. They still hadn't found him by the time I logged off. I'm sure not all PKers are that generous, but it certainly made me happy he left almost everything. Arrows are easy enough to get back from the kobolds. Current: None |

nice story telling, I'll take it from here. The moral of this story is that Dwarves love arrows. |

I've found so far in DFO that noobs like ourselves (no offence) don't have much that someone in full plate would want to burden themselves down with. Killing us only provides slightly better loot than a goblin to them, for the most part I haven't lost much upon returning to my gravestone. Also it seems PKers leave quickly and don't camp the grave due to fear of being ganked by myself and 3-4 higher lvl players in my clan. Which means I have each time gone to my grave and got my gear back unmolested. Also looting graves in DFO is a tactical decision, if you want to loot everything then it might take some time. That time you spend looting you're defencless and blind with only your hearing to warn you of approaching meanies (no radar in DFO). I'd say the most I've lost in DFO due to being PK'd is my pride and maybe a few resources I was mining at the time :(

But yeah, when i used to play i got pk'ed several times though none of those were gloating about it and rubbing it in my face. Only when i pk'ed o.o Except for when i went to copperfield as a Mahirim and ravaged some newbies there, it ended up in a 3 vs 20 match! It was so awesome to see new players co-op against me and two other mahirims. The speed of the mole and the power of steel is my weapon |

I think its funny that you guys call full plate good armor. The NA server must be filled with people that hate magic or something because full plate right now is probably the worst armor you can wear unless you are wearing a full plate chest with a q5 feather enchant on it and the rest of it is bone. Might explain why they only kill noobs though.

I should probably join a clan pretty soon. You're right, at the moment I'm barely better than a goblin. Once that starts to change, I'm going to become a much more appealing target and getting PKed is going to start stinging more. Being a part of a clan and going out in small groups would help. I have no idea if it was plate or if his armor was that good. It just looked like plate armor to me. Current: None |

...and so, you were the victim of a PKer... Perhaps the lesson you missed is that the Dwarf wasn't really doing you a favor. He killed you. For whatever value there is in your death, it was certainly worth much more than the lowly trinkets and wealth you amassed. None-the-less, you were slaughtered and inconvenienced for a small period of time. I wonder if the Dwarf was a lover of Kobolds? People don't PK unless there is good reason. For some is trash talkin', other might get an in-game point or accolade, but in your case it was probably boredom or something more strategic. Perhaps the Plated-Dwarf (which tells a whole other story) used a miniscule weapon to take down a weakling in order to draw more favorable opponents to a waiting ambush. Maybe, the cries for assistance were answered, and the Dwarf lay in perch for that perfect sword wielder to show??? One thing is certain, the Plated-Dwarf was hiding it's true power... you don't need plate to shoot a bow. |

I have seen a few group of PKers do that. They kill you, take your gold, arrows and reagents (if you have some) and leave the rest of your items on your grave. Usually because it's completly useless to them :þ ------ |

I'm on NA1, but thanks for the offer. I may join up with the NEW clan. We'll see. Current: None |

if a really good pker is going on a rampage just killing loads of people he will only take arrows / regs to stop his supplies running out. alot of the times i've been pked i've just run back and god my stuff. the bad pkers go around in groups of 2 or more for a start, so have no actual player skill. and subsequently will rob you dry. |

Last night I was in the same area where I was first PKed. I had just killed quite a few kobolds and had quite a bit of junk in my bag. I was going to kill some more, but decided to go bank instead. Right when I got out of the water, two guys started shooting spells and arrows at me from the island I had just been on. The first one hit me, but I started running and zig-zagging all over the place heading towards the nearby tower and bank. That was a nice adrenaline rush! They stayed outside of the tower's range, but kept pelting other players who were trying to harvest. They managed to kill one of them probably because they were AFK. Then they started complaining about people hiding behind towers. Idiots. Current: None |

I am rather skeptical about that. Unless he had +10 alignment before he PKed you (meaning that he would drop at +2), there's no way he'd be able to go back in Town as Guard Towers will attack any red players on sight. ------ |

As someone who has been thinking about trying it out, but has never played Darkfall, why is Full Plate bad? |
