Hey all, |

Why changed server? Just reroll to the same server you got a lvl 70. First you can send some money and craft thing from your old toon and second if you got some pal in your friend list they will be glad to see you again. |

Yeah i was thinking bout that, but the story is that my lvl 70ish character i changed server with all my friends to a new one when free transfer was on. When we did they all decided to quit, what was very annoying at the time, left me hanging. So i havnt had the chance to make new friends or guild on the server i was on. |

Went back to WoW once out of boredom. Won't repeat that mistake again. Sure, it was a fun few weeks, but in the end was the same boring crap waiting for me: raid or arena and a bunch of kiddies mocking people for not being in pure epics 5 min after hitting max level. I assure you, this still hasn't changed. But to each their own I suppose. GL with that. |

Same here. I was gone for almost 2 years before I went back to try again. I didn't last more than a week and a half before I couldn't log in anymore. It was the same quests and content that I just couldn't bring my-self to do over again. If you don't mind the same ol same ol, then go for it OP. There isn't another game out there that has as much total content. If you find a good group of people to play with, doing the same thing over with isn't so bad. I just didn't have the time or disire to find those people. Good luck to you. |

At this time the Wrath expansion is "in full concert", as I would like to call it. It is the best period of any expansion, as the game is all out and playing on many violins and horns. Going from the normal dungeons to heroics, Nax, Ulduar, TotC it has an end game that is scaled for anyone. Don't forget the new BG "Isle" either. IT IS MUCH telling that it took ... 3 full months before 1 guild had the World FIRST in the latest "Raid" 25 men TOTC heroic with the award of a black horse mount. All the rest is build up right onto your needs on your main or alts. As for patch 3.3, a good guess it will be released within 2 - 3 weeks (the average of such a big patch is around 30 to 40 days on the PTR) and it now already is 3 weeks on the PTR. Coming back to your question of "which server", I give you a few hints: 1. It doesn't matter much at this time because with the cross server LFG tool, you'll be able to do whatever, whenever, wherever on a 24/7 basis in a group. Be it PvP or PVE. Read the newest auto-add for empty slots in the LFG tool and you can see how important this new feature is. 2. Look for a server that has a relatively high number of servers in the Battlegroup system. I myself always place my characters in the Blackout BG. Because it simply has 17 servers clustered in the PvP competition and BG's. That last factor could be a good factor because even in the most odd day of time you have BG's in ALL ranges up. For the cross server dungeons this is less important this (as a group of 5 is easely "matched"), but we now have 2 Battlegrounds with 80 people in them (AV and the excellent Isle of Conquest) and I know at least in our Battlegroup they "spawn" within a 2 to 3 minutes bracket. Have fun. Look Zorndorf lost a star again. ;)) The inconvenient linked truth hurts on mmorpg.com |

If you haven't resubbed yet, I would recommend just waiting until the Cataclysm expansion comes out. Why burn yourself out again before that? Maybe try Borderlands or Dragon Age for awhile. I would guess most servers are the same, with a high end population and a very low low-level population. That will change once Cataclysm hits. Well, at least there will be a lot more lower levels playing. |

I don't agree since the new LFG tool has an automated add to fill in the places of doing dungeons, so there is no need to wait for a new expansion after pacth 3.3 hits. Like I said, in this time of its life every expansion is at its best when all end game content is in place (from intro to ultimate). That will give you 6 months of pure fun. The WORST period btw in standard WOW/TBC/WotLK is/was always the 3 weeks pre launch - as the talent settings were added and burst damage got in. The difference NOW lies with the 3.3 corss server LFG tool which will make ANY level worthwhile, both for PvP (don't forget the PvP leveling these days) as the dungeons. Here read the newest: http://www.wow.com/2009/11/07/patch-3-3-luck-of-the-draw-buffs-you-for-pugging/ I guess with the newest "fill the holes" techniques seen on the PTR, the cross servers are handy but the mechanism above it is a breath of fresh ear.

Welcome back. The game has not fundamentally changed from a casual gamer point of view so you will not feel "lost" on your return. My advice would be to not worry about low level zones as my experience is that most servers are very quiet in public chat and at low levels. I would be more focussed on finding a good guild to join as soon as possible and they will give you the support you want. You could either roll a char from the opposite faction to your main so that the quest lines are all new to you ( great way to experience a familiar game as if it was new again) or if you roll the same faction, I would stick to the same server so you can put them both in the same guild and switch as you want to. Good luck. To err is human....to play is divine |

I agree. Playing now, you'll probably get burnt out on all the same old same old. I'd wait till Cataclysm launch so at least everything will be new/prettier. Thats what I'm doing |

You don't stop playing because you get old - you get old because you stop playing. |
I've thought about returning to WoW as well. I cut my subscription a year back when the "new content" with the Lich King expansion was....just more of the same. The game had turned into just the hunt for the next item upgrade. No story. No interesting events. Just a grind. Since then, I've tried Warhammer, EQ2, Eve, DDO....and been disappointed with all of them. Eve had potential, but it just seemed that you had to let it rule your life to actually get anywhere and the fantasy based other 3 just did everything WoW does, but not as well. It's a depressing thing, but without a lucky shot in the dark, it's unlikely that I'll enjoy a current MMO more than WoW and I've no desire to go back to it. Mortal Online looks like it has potential if it makes it to release and I would jump back into Asheron's Call in an instant if I could connect to their damn antique servers, but at the moment, it looks like I'm going to doing Magic Online and that most subversive of passtimes....physical exercise outside!!!! Oh wait, actually, exercise is much more rewarding, just as fun and you get to kick things for real, with very few people shouting "noob!" at you ;¬) |
