there is/was a legion out there with the nazi symbol on their back yes. i dont know if the legion has been disbanded by gms or not, but it did exist.

Swastikas are illegal in most countries so I would be very surprised if it was allowed. Also, in the TOS of most games it is said that you are not allowed to incite race, gender or religous hatred. And I think a swastika fits that pretty well.

As stated before, Guilds/Legion can upload ANY logo/symbol/picture they want. It then in turn gets put on Cloaks/Sheild/Fortresses that corresponding guild/legion camptures. It's actually nice to see your banner logo on stuff. You kiddies need to calm down and research before crying wolf.

Yeah - It really is that simple.

Hard not to smile a little at the "uproar" here. WoW "lore" is basically built on Warhammer (long before the EA MMO game) and Blizzard had to do a few changes before launch because they failed to obtain the rights to use the official IP.

This is by far one of the most ignorant things uttered.. ALL fantasy based games are based on Tolkien's works because the original D&D game from 1973 was based on it. It's why it is held in such esteem and why it's generally (except by you, apparently) known as the foundation of the fantasy genre.

Okay...I'm gonna stop you right there. Elves, Dwarves, Orcs, Dragons, Undead, Magic, Curses, and almost every single other possible thing you can think of in Tolkien's works are from ANCIENT MYTHOLOGY from around the world dating back upwards to a thousand years of more.

The reality of the matter is that the entire fantasy genre is nothing but an expansion upon ancient Norse, Germanic, Egyptian, Japanese, etc. mythology and culture.

Has anyone brought up the fact that if Blizzard has that symbol trademarked and NCSoft reproduced it in a game...such as if a publisher reproduced an image in their magazine...that they are liable for a lawsuit for unauthorized use.  Even if they did not realize that it was in their game.

I would argue that politics and greed have killed more than any religion ever has.  WW2 was not a religious war.  Ganghis Khan killing millions on his march was not religious.  African tribes killing every man woman and child in enemy tribes was not religious, Stalin's eradication of "enemies of the state" was not religious.  What ever anyone say governments, leaders, politicians, and 'organized groups' commit more evil in this world but only religion gets the blame.
