Money in politics is the root of all political evil. It is corruption at it's worst. |

Swastikas are illegal in most countries so I would be very surprised if it was allowed. Also, in the TOS of most games it is said that you are not allowed to incite race, gender or religous hatred. And I think a swastika fits that pretty well. |

This thread is so full of fail people in life and everything its not even funny! Lol at OP for freaking about a WoW symbol in another game! Talk about a fan boy. As stated before, Guilds/Legion can upload ANY logo/symbol/picture they want. It then in turn gets put on Cloaks/Sheild/Fortresses that corresponding guild/legion camptures. It's actually nice to see your banner logo on stuff. You kiddies need to calm down and research before crying wolf. |

You could pretty much upload any image. That doesn't mean it won't be reported and action won't be taken. |

WoW "lore" is basically built on Warhammer (long before the EA MMO game) and Blizzard had to do a few changes before launch because they failed to obtain the rights to use the official IP. Oh well - water under the bridge and now the youngsters think WoW is "original" Only MMO-players manage to start an argument over the amount of "sparkling" in a lightsaber... |

ALL fantasy based games are based on Tolkien's works because the original D&D game from 1973 was based on it. It's why it is held in such esteem and why it's generally (except by you, apparently) known as the foundation of the fantasy genre. Ironically, the piece of crap online game that bears it's name is one of the last I'd call "true" to the original works. |

I would think the UK would know better than to try ranking other countries in any way. They have their own non-stop scandals to deal with and frankly have become just a pale shadow of the empire they once were. It's a different world and monarchies don't much fit in anymore. |

If you actually took the time to read the page provided, you would've noticed the research result was provided by Legatum Institute. "The Legatum Institute is an independent research, policy, and advocacy organisation that promotes political, economic and individual liberty in the developing and transitioning world." A quote from their webpage. Any other opinions? |

Indeed, if you are going to ban one offensive symbol you need to ban them all. I support free expression. |

Okay...I'm gonna stop you right there. Elves, Dwarves, Orcs, Dragons, Undead, Magic, Curses, and almost every single other possible thing you can think of in Tolkien's works are from ANCIENT MYTHOLOGY from around the world dating back upwards to a thousand years of more. The reality of the matter is that the entire fantasy genre is nothing but an expansion upon ancient Norse, Germanic, Egyptian, Japanese, etc. mythology and culture. I get sick of people saying "Oh, that was just ripped off from Tolkien" because quite frankly, he stole it as well. And just so ya know, I love his works. Definately prefer the Hobbit over Lord of the Rings though. Frodo was a whiny emo teenager. Bilbo was awesome. |

Has anyone brought up the fact that if Blizzard has that symbol trademarked and NCSoft reproduced it in a game...such as if a publisher reproduced an image in their magazine...that they are liable for a lawsuit for unauthorized use. Even if they did not realize that it was in their game. |

Religion... along with Christianity in the past has certainly waged war... crusades? Jihad? Religion is definately the source of more evil than good in the world if you look at it over the last 2000 years. |

I would argue that politics and greed have killed more than any religion ever has. WW2 was not a religious war. Ganghis Khan killing millions on his march was not religious. African tribes killing every man woman and child in enemy tribes was not religious, Stalin's eradication of "enemies of the state" was not religious. What ever anyone say governments, leaders, politicians, and 'organized groups' commit more evil in this world but only religion gets the blame. |

Christian have always been very keen in changing their skin when any of their wrongdoings comes to light. EDIT: NOBODY expects the Spanish Inquisition!-- Monty Python But to the topic: I bet that logo has come along with some WoW player/group/guild/legion. They're leaving in flocks and the new haven is... Aion. Sorry.
