These people obviously weren't very big fans of Stargate SG-1.

I liked her better with the long hair.

Is this show a re-make? I remember watching something like this many years ago.

Yes it is. Terrible remake with obvious political undertones.

From the article:

"In the remake, the beautiful but evil leader channels a more modern bad guy: The corporate executive armed with a PR campaign that Enron would have envied."

And here I thought it was a satire of the Obama presidency.  Silly me!

I own a TV.  It sits in a corner with a blanket thrown over it.  Collects dust.

Hope you got your things together. Hope you are quite prepared to die. Looks like we're in for nasty weather. ... There's a bad moon on the rise.

Need to throw a good Vase and some fake flowers on top. Make it classy.

Anyone else notice how she has a neck like a stork?  That looks about like her only flaw that I can see.  And that's not even a flaw, if you like long necks.

Oh, and yeah, this show is the remake of a miniseries from the 80s. V

Oh I absolutely loved the original for the short amount of time it was aired on sci-fi when i was little. I had to sit and watch the whole marathon and my parents couldn't stand it. : D

Sadly I don't think I will even bother watching the new one. I have a preference for either the cameras or the film (and audio recordings!) that they used back then, even if the costumes and props look fake it just seems like the shows made in that era overall look and sound better. That and I just know it will be generic and 'modernized', and crap for 'my' generation like Star Trek was.

I second this. I loved the original V series and it's first episode was awesome. Unfortunately syndication will force me to wait a few months to see the remake since i live outside the US.

Just to make things clear...
I speak for myself and no one else, unless i state otherwise mine is just an opinion. A fact is something that can be independently verified, you may challenge such but with proof. You have every right to disagree with me through sound argument, i believe in constructive debate, but baseless aggression will warrant an unkind response.

I have to agree with the other poster, i was looking forward to the show and it seems cool but damn everything happened in one show, from aliens coming out of nowhere to people already visiting there ships and joining programs. I think they covered one month in one show, huge let down for me.

I agree as well.  I think the plot of the story needs to develop over several episodes, especially for a series.  Too much happened in the first episode too quickly.  I think they run the risk of burning out the story too fast.  But I think the reason they did it that way is because we live in an instant gratification world now.  They figured we've got to rope the audience in right away.  Show them why the aliens are really here and what they really look like all in episode one.

Unless, they have some big things planned for future episodes, I doubt the audience holds up.

I don't know if I agree with this. I agree it seemed everything happened in the first episode and it felt rushed. I disagree with the instant gratification comment. I think a perfect example is the show LOST. That show drags on with major plot and suspense and it is done well. I think V could do this, but the V I loved as a kid I enjoyed the battle scenes more than the connections between the visitors and the humans.

I don't know. I just hope ABC gives it a chance to develop.

I personally think the characters suck this time.  Bad casting.  and no Marc Singer!  bring him back and ill stick with it.

Marc Singer is 61, it would have to be the kid/s he had with Julie if he was to come back. Course I guess if Harrison Ford can play Indy at that age why not, haha.
