To start paying again for wow then if i like sto or tor drop it to play one of them full time seems like a waste to me.

If you want to play a game dont join the betas. You will be leveling your character and it will be wiped, then you will already know a lot of the game and you will spoil yourself throught the content. My recomendation, if you want to play wow, go play wow.

Sorry but the PVP system in WOW for example is head and shoulders above the competition. Why ?

Because the control and responsiveness of your avatars in WOW is FAR better and more fluid than in any other mmorpg I played.

I hate a game where you can't control your avatar in a fluid and responsive way. Most of the OFF line adventure games suck even in this aspect of a game.

And ... that's the BASIC element of PvP isn't it: ---- > NOT fighting your controls, but fighting the other person.

I am not surprised WOW is the ONLY mmorpg with a representation on E sports Broadcast channel. ESPN.

But this extreme example of polish shines in every way the game is made. Itemisation, class designs, quest designs, the extreme polish of Raid content.

You are being VERY naieve if you think you can compete with 5% of the development resources.

That's why intelligent people play WOW. I only PAY for the best developped resources.

-----

I still want to play the usual amateurish competition now and then (like the upcoming ST), but I don't expect ANYTHING worthwile that could compete with a Blizzard product.

I am too intelligent to expect otherwise.

What if players dislike a fantasy setting? Raids? Set classes?

What if we like FFA pvp with item loss? What about territory control?

Wow offers none of that.

Yet I'm not intelligent because I choose not to play a certain video game? A video game that offers everything but the features I enjoy during my free time?

I am not saying you are not intelligent when you don't play WOW or a Fantasy based game.

I am saying that IF you are playing WOW, you are intelligent enough to understand what's making the difference between a game in which Blizzard invested over 200 million dollars over the last 5 years....

and a game that tries to do something with 1-5% of that amount.

Be it itemisation, high level content, smooth and responsive gameplay in various forms of  PVE/PVE, options.

I pay a subscription for the game that offers me a 200 million dollar investment worth of gameplay.

IF you think you can find that in games with low cost budgets, you simply lack intelligence.

THAT is my answer to the OP: to WOW or not to WOW....

In my opinion, I pay a subscription to play a game I enjoy, no matter how many money the developer invested on it. But is up to you. I had a lot of fun playing games that with your reasoning are out of the question, but go on, it's up to you.

Did you leave before or after 3.2.2 (the Argent tournament raids)? You may want o wait till Ice Crown is out then come back for that content. It should be here within a few months (or even weeks).

You can reword what you are saying as many times as you wish, but the fact still remains.

You believe that you are an advanced form of intelligent life along with the 11 million or so other people that play WoW and that everyone who plays another game and enjoy it much more than WoW are of an lesser intelligence.

WoW has hundreds of millions of dollars invested in it....so what? people like myself SEE that the game is well-polished and has many different features in it and it is probably the most well-balanced game on the market, but we still don't like it.

That doesn't make us of a lesser intelligence because we SEE that the game is well-polished and good. Its just that it has features that we DON'T like. Whether that is the PVP system that does not quite appeal to us or that its Fantasy-based and we would rather play a Sci-Fi based game like EVE.

Please, don't ever say that people who play WoW are an intelligent group of people. I've seen many people who are incredibly retarded on that game. Apparently that group includes yourself. Not only do you consider yourself as a supremely intelligent being, which by itself is extremely egotistical and arrogant, you also seem to hold a narrow-minded view about games, which is also ignorant.
