I am but what I allow you to see in me

Hm, as much as I would love more players in Darkfall I don't know if a trial would help much.  The first few days or even weeks are so rough on people that 14 days is not enough time for people to get many good experiences in the game.  Much of the good stuff only comes after you raise up in skill and can compete... so really a trial where all you can do is skill grind and gather is kinda boring.  I love Darkfall... but the traditional trial for MMO's won't work here

No. Mortal Online is definitely unable to compete with Darkfall unless they push the release date back. It's already November and the game is absolutely horrible. Everything in this game is buggy or extremely unpolished. The ideas in it are good but they aren't implemented properly (either bugs affecting it or it just sucks). The game can be considered alpha because there are barely any features in MO. Let me explain why it is still crappy (vaguely so I don't spill everything)

- Harvesting not completed

- Recently added housing is basic and boring

- Rocky combat animations and nasty monster AI/ movement

- All basic things are buggy including the UI, buying items from vendor

- Nothing to do except walk around, look at boring landscapes

- Tons of unoptimized areas (laggy)

- Archery sucks

- Magic sucks

- You have to download the entire client again when they release new content (it gets annoying)

-

I'll be a monkey's uncle if the highlighted parts in red weren't the exact same ones that everyone (fanbots excluded) complained about when Darkfall released (and still do for some of them housing, char, animations, UI , archery-melee-magic not implemented correctly or unbalanced) and the part in yellow is were Darkfall actually meets MO

exactly......but thats his point. Darkfall fixed the problems it had at launch now and MO still has these problems (ie darkfall is always going to be a step ahead of MO)

personally if u say that darkfall has no features

(The game can be considered alpha because there are barely any features in MO. >> part in yellow is were Darkfall actually meets MO) then i dont believe you've played the game...

Clan conquest.... player housing... villages... naval fights, 100s vs 100s fights... unique crafting (like enchanting for example).... FFA Full loot pvp... where to stop?

MO had not been made for large scale combat of 100 vs 100 BTW and i prefer MO to get a good 1vs1 balance with small army that can fight in the world. In darkfall, the only way you can really fight is by camping in to enemy base with an army and declaring war.

MO world is not huge. Meaning that it wont be hard to find players to kill and meaning that MO world will be more dangerous. No matter what, i will move from DF to MO because of 1 reason. MO got no grind. Only reason why you grind in MO is for crafting, but combat skills is so fast to raise that the devs had mentioned a million times that we will max primary skills under a week and secondary, we will learn them fast enough to be competitive to pvp really fast.

Also, if you want to be a pure melee, MO is your game. Darkfall is currently mage online and even after the expansion, after they fixed the melee problem, there will still be more aoe spells and rangers.

MO devs also listen to their followers. I mean, almost all the devs team post on random threads. They even post on off topic threads.

BTW,you are wrong. Range system is perfect and well done in a realistic way. You think its broken because you still dont know how realist the devs of MO want their game to be. They also work hard on melee so it wont be a spam fest, but a way so only skilled players can win fight.

Played DF trial for 2 weeks none stop. Check out my pvp video during trial.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gJnU_JEqKRM
So you can stop posting that i played DF only for 2 weeks over and over again.

For whatever reason, while knowing your name enough to expect your post to be a troll attempt, i am going to treat it as a legitimate opinion.

Point 1: Combat size - balanced 1v1 combat could actually be fun, though after watching Darkfall's problems with high number battles, i cant expect MO to NOT run into issues because of the same, im not saying that the devs are planning them... but people will zerg.

Point 2: World Size and Grind - I  agree that it may be more hectic(or just more catering to a low population game) to be enclosed in a smaller area. However, exploration is a factor when it comes to attracting people, and a minor factor for retaining them. The lack of grind is possibly going to be one of the more interesting features for MO to deal with. On one side, what you say is true... its going to be more fun faster. On the other, retention is going to be crap. If people want instant gratification(in being able to fight), no longer term character progression and relatively balanced classes... they can play FPS games. The two major advantages MO would hold over them would be looting and world size. Dynamic fight locations might be kind of cool but FPS map creations kind of counter this. And after a certain point in time the looting practically does not affect the characters too much but it MAY retain some minor adrenaline advantage(i dont know). Anyway, i predict that these two factors will not be enough make large playerbase choose MO over FPSes, especially considering the monthly fee aspect of MO.

Point 3: "Pure Melee" - I'm going to go on ahead and say that Darkfall was never meant to be a game dominated by "pures"... if people wanted that they can go with classes. However, people can easily go against the standard builds and attempt such, sometimes with success. Hopefully, after the next expansion this will be MORE viable but still not standard. Anyway, yes, for better or worse, pure melee is more likely in MO.

Point 4: Dev Interaction - I can only concede that it is likely that the MO devs have been more active than the darkfall ones. However, that does not mean that it is always a good thing. As with most democracy, sometimes the people make decisions that actually leave them worse off than under an enlightened dictator. Whether the population influence on the devs is a positive negative one will need to be seen post release.

Point 5: Archery system - I am not qualified to compare the MO archery system at all because i am unfamiliar with it.

Disclaimer: I  am not an active Darkfall player(due to time constraints i quit months ago.. but am pretty up to date on the state of the game) and am interested to see how MO will turn out. I have no major game based bias between the methods of the two, i have just been giving my opinion on the places where their philosophies diverge.

I know incredibly ignorant, just found it too funny to ignore. (sorry!) :)

Apparently you only kept the part of my post you liked and ignored the rest :i was merely pointing out the irony on how the DF followers are so highly judgemental on some other game seemingly identical to the one they're playing while it shares the some of the same problems that Darkfal did at launch (i underlined my point and highlighted it above in blue just to make myself understood ).

As far as the "Darkfall fixed the problems" i'll rephrase it to "Darkfall fixed SOME of the problems" and while SOME is better than NONE it's far from being ALL and i'll just leave it to that......

As for whether or not you believe if i ever played the game or not i must say you're not the first one that brings  this *cough, cough* "argument" (for a lack of better euphemism) in existence just because of your inability to substantiate an actual reasonable argument thus leaving plenty of room for me or anyone to just whip out the " i don't believe you played it either" deteriorating this to a "NO U !!11!!!" type of conversation ; so the only answer i have for you is www.youtube.com/watch

Iiii-iiiiiit's.... me!!! *Hooray*
