Troubling portrait emerges of Fort Hood suspect. WASHINGTON – His name appears on radical Internet postings. A fellow officer says he fought his deployment to Iraq and argued with soldiers who supported U.S. wars. At least six months ago, Hasan came to the attention of law enforcement officials because of Internet postings about suicide bombings and other threats, including posts that equated suicide bombers to soldiers who throw themselves on a grenade to save the lives of their comrades. On a form filled out by those seeking spouses through a program at the mosque, Hasan listed his birthplace as Arlington, Va., but his nationality as Palestinian, Khan said. Sounds normal to me. Many people try to find spouses of the same religion, and churches, temples, and mosques are often the center of matchmaking. That's really nothing new. Dude you really need help.....Seriously! Read that shit you just wrote and then try to activate a few brain cells to understand how sad it is. Back on Topic, I was living in Waco when David Koresh went crazy, and in Killeen in 91 when that guy whacked out in the luby's. Today I was in Austin and it's just so tragic and hard to understand. I really don't understand why things like this seem to happen. It would be easy to blame this on something far away and maybe that's the case, but as someone who has seen these events reoccur you have to ask why. To be honest, I know that Central Texas is not filled with the best and brightest our nation has to offer, and the real truth is Fort Hood has always been a pretty disgusting sponge for Government money in the area. Still, the whole area is almost nothing but good decent hard working people. It just makes no sense. |

We had a guy blow his own finger off just before we went for pre-deployment training (what Ft. Hood is... but we went to Camp Shelby, MS). Then we got to Iraq and it was completely dead, to the point where we were doing stupid stuff just in hopes something would happen so we could break the monotony of it all. People do some stupid stuff not to go, I'm just surprised it was a MAJ that did it. It still boils down the fact that he was nothing but a coward and that caused him to lose his mind. Just because he was hurt in the process of being a coward, doesn't make him any less of a coward. (See the first sentence of my post) |
