So I have an HP-Pavilion RX885AA-ABA a6000n. I haven't been a massive computer gamer. Most of the mmo's I play run just fine, but lately I've noticed that games like Oblivion don't run too well on my computer. Everything else on my computer runs fine except for a long loading process.

From what I gather, my computer is capable of being upgraded, but I really haven't the slightest clue how to go about it. Any thing in specific I should post to get more accurate help?

So what you should have now is:

CPU: Athlon 64 X2 4200+
Mobo: nForce 430 chipset (socket 939)
RAM: 1 GB DDR2-533 (2x512MB)
GPU: Geforce 6150SE onboard

I have a feeling that you may already have a video card besides the onboard or you would have more trouble with your PC than you say?

Without knowing more what I'd upgrade in order is, graphics, ram, CPU.

For video card you should pick up a Radeon 4670 for $70. Pick up 2GB more memory (2x1GB) for $40. Those 2 things will help your PC a lot and that's probably all you'd need to do. If you want to upgrade the CPU unfortunately you'd have to pick up a new mobo, but you could get an Athlon II X2 235 for $65 and an AM2+ mobo for $60 and if you don't know anything about PC's you may not want to deal with a mobo and CPU swap but they are easier than they sound.

If you don't have enough to upgrade the CPU/mobo but have some left over upgrade cash, you could step up the video card to a Geforce 9600GT for $90, or a Radeon 4850 for $110, though your CPU wouldn't be able to push them to their limits you'd probably see a difference with them over the 4670 and you should check the wattage on your PSU.

What you listed is exactly what I have still. Although I haven't done any upgrades on my computer at all, so I'm not sure if there is another video card installed.

If you need more information, I can try to find some if you want.

Otherwise, thanks a ton for the help, and I'll consider the upgrades. They seem to be a lot cheaper than I actually expected ^^

Well, anything more would require a new mobo, CPU and most likely a power supply, you could definitely spend a lot more on upgrades if you wanted to. It depends on what games you are wanting to play and what resolution your monitor is, and how much you want to spend of course.

I don't know if you may have bought it with a video card in it cuz I still find it hard to believe you could even get more than 5 fps in Oblivion on a 6150 lol.. you can check where the monitor is plugged in to, if it's on the flat panel where the keyboard and mouse are plugged in then it's the onboard Geforce 6150. Or you can just go Start -> Run, type in 'dxdiag' and hit ok, then click the Display tab and see what name comes up.

Nope, I'm running on the geforce, I tried oblivion to check how smooth it runs. After, and just before it loads up there's a bit of lag. Otherwise on minimal graphics the game can run somewhat smooth. I'm also using a NEC MultiSync 1740CX, which constantly demands I run/play anything at 1280 x 1024. I just figured that out by using Belarc advisor, my friend sent me a link so I could figure out more about my computer.

If its an HP, you need a PSU as well.

Hm, I think it would still handle a 4670..

we're talking like 130W, that PSU should be a 240W even if it's not very good.
