I am now 37 yrs old and had been playing mm0s since day 1 and no longer play them anymore, why i do not know. Anyway when i am board and fancy playing or learning a new game I come here to check if there is any new releases, but I have found that I turn towards browser based mmo's or just browser games in general.

I'm 36, and also drawing the same conclusion.

I'd rather play a comedy flash based game than spend 3 hours for 10% of an XP bar.

The only entertainment factor I used to get out of playing an MMO was from the people I played with.  Most of them have since retired from the gaming community as well.  I've tried joining new groups and legions, but I'll be if they aren't all full of teens and early 20s.

Not much for the grounds of fruitful conversation.

Thirty year-olds are not that much different from twenty year-olds, from my perspective, heh.  It's all relative, you can trust me on that one.  Seriously though, you two guys were mere toddlers when I started messing with my first computer and gaming, but chronological age has almost nothing to do with how mature you are.  There are as many dimwitted, immature people in their 30's as there are in their 20's and, for that matter, in ANY age bracket you care to name.

You only get out of a game what you put into it, simple as that. Personally, I'd rather stick a fork in my leg than play browser games, but that's personal preference, not a comment on the entire genre.

I haven't quit MMOs but I do play more and more browser based MMOs.

The reason is that many Browser Based MMOs offer a more immersive MMO experience than some of the AA titles.

As an example: Pardus.

I have been playing Pardus for more than a year.  It (each universe) is a persistent 'world'.  My characters own buildings, are part of alliances and contribute to the politcial landscape of the 'world'.  What I do today could affect other players for months.

What's more - when I log out - my characters and their assets don't.
They are still in game - other players can still interact with them.  Events can take place which still make a difference to me.

Compare that to some recent AA MMO releases.  They are nothing more than multi player instances with a graphical lobby tacked on the front.
When I log out - no one misses me.  It doesn't matter what I did because nothing has changed and no one can interact with me or any of my assets.
