My comp had been able to run every game I've tried until I came across FE. FE uses a shit-ton of RAM and probably has some kind of memory leak. It will eventually lock up my comp after a while. I thought it was my GPU overheating, but the last few times I've played the computer has locked up with the cooling fans barely spinning. Because of this, I won't be buying FE any time soon. I'm really interested in playing DF. I'm really close to making a decision, but I'm worried about how my comp will run the game. Macbook Pro running XP SP3 My monitor can go up to 1920x1200, or I could just use the laptop's screen at 1440x900. So can I run DF? I'm sure I won't be using max settings, but that's not a huge deal. I have no idea what you just wrote! But DF dont take much from your computer, atleast if you have a normal "2009" machine! There is a reason for the DF graphic style : ) |

What was hard to understand about what he wrote? Secondly, you can play DF maxed on a computer from 2005 lol. You by no means need an up to date machine. @OP: I play FE on a system that is well BELOW min reqs and I don't have your issues. Sorry, but the problem is on your end and there are plenty of ways for you to verify that. You just chose not too.

The 9600GT runs the game just fine. The 9600M GT, does not. |

People are assuming I don't like or am knocking FE. I love the game, I just can't justify buying it atm when it's locking up my comp. And it's the only game I've tried so far that has managed to do that. I also hate when people tell me I haven't really tried to fix the issue because they're not having any issues. Don't make assumptions. I've tried everything that's been posted on the FE forums. From what I've read, the 9600M GT is actually below their minimum supported card, which is why I stated it was the comp's biggest weak point and why I'm asking if it can run DF. Current: None |

I would think you could run it on your computer. I was running with a 7950 until last month and it was working fine. I did notice that whenever I crossed a block it would chunk more than those around me. As long as I stayed in one area I was fine. Asdar |
