well i wanted to read the forums of matrix online .. see if some old hardcore buddies still played and saw the game was closed
so then i wanted to read about people reactions to the game closing and not ONE thread in mmorpg devoted to it? yea it wasnt the greatest game, SOE could have done a lot more for it but .. dang , the matrix movies were cool as hell and it DID serve the very very small SCI FI MMO market ..
being a sci fi fan at heart and secretly despising the fantasy worlds most MMO's are set in i was sad to see this fold
and sadder to see no one posted about it folding :P |

Ehmm Matrix Online closed down months ago at the end of July. There has been official news about it. Even on this site. Cheers When www met dot , they then stumbled upon Secret Society , wich happened to be a Guild , wich in turn told dot about the net . |

There was a post about it closing by mmorpg, it was on the front page for a bit. I played MXO sad to see it go, but when there is no population in a game the plug has to be pulled.

There were plenty of threads about it back when it happened. Mostly people reminiscing about the game's potential before SOE got their grubby hands on it. I played from beta to the moment SOE acquired the game. As my initial instinct was right, SOE is where games go to die.

Why is it that an IP based upon combat in a virtual world CANNOT spawn a game of any interest?????
You would think this would be a no brainer. Say hello, To the things you've left behind. They are more a part of your life now that you can't touch them. |

It closed because no one was playing it, so really not surprising there would not be a lot of threads about a game no one played.

I wasnt around the forums when the game went under, but every screenshot ive seen of this game looks dated. Wasnt this game as old as WOW? Just to make things clear... |
