Stealth classes like rogues in WoW kept were so much fun for me. Soloing and sneaking around doing quests made me not mind the grind, and pvp and instances were fun with my rogue (sorry for the comparison to WoW for all the people who get butt hurt about that kind of thing). Anyway, I can't really get into wow anymore because I've played it for 2+ years now and just not enjoying any more.

So yeah, a game with stealth ability and plays like - but not completely - like rogue classes in WoW. Prefer non-asian mmo's or at least no anime influence (If absolutely nothing then I wouldn't mind, but is there even a anime type game that has stealth classes? Maybe fiesta?). 3D type game. Would be nice if it was F2P but will consider P2P if there's free trial or stealth class is really that worth it. Not graphically intensive. I have 128 MB graphics card and I have to run S.U.N and most MMO's on lowest setting for it not to lag. Something with variety (so when I get bored with pve I can go pvp). Prefer PVP but could do without it.

Here are the games that I did try with stealth classes:

1) DDO - Was fun but I don't like the repetition of the dungeons in ddo and not as much variety. Trap disabling was nice but I just got bored of the game and you can't really solo certain parts of the game as a rogue. (Didnt get to prestige classes, you guys think it will be worth it if I hit prestige?)

2) Chronicles of Spellborn - Couldn't stealth or at least that's what I was told. Not really challenging and was disappointed to find that rogues aren't like rogues in WoW.

3) Neocron2 - I tried to register for neocron but it would not let me sign up for free trial because the credit card company used to pay monthly's is not online. I would appreciate some help with this if I could have a chance to play neocron2 that would be great

4) WoW - I really liked this idea of a stealth class but can no longer play.

5) Battlefield Heroes - fun stealth class but not really mmo or rpg. Also, is there any other games like this that is a fun stealth fps?

6) LOTRO - played the rogue class but just didn't have fun. Does it get more insteresting when you get higher lvl?

Console Games consideration:

I was wondering if you guys knew any xbox360 games that meet that requirement that I can play on live. I've played fallout 3 and stealthing in that is fun but I would prefer not soloing all the time. What about Assassins creed? Or maybe a Tenchu game? Or maybe prince of persia? Never played any of these games and I would like to get input before I rent/buy.

Thanks in advance,

Batmanuel

Maybe if I'm going to have my Xfire profile up, I should start using Xfire...

You've been waiting half a day, if that. A bump was completely unnecessary.

*A Tale In the Desert - maccher
*Knights of Dream City - Johnon - Dream Knight/Engineer Level 12
*Pernica - Johnon - Singing Carpenter's Apprentice
I have trouble finding time to play all of my MMOs, heh.

Prestige classes add a nice touch, but will not do much to alleviate the fact that soloing as a rogue in DDO is far from ideal, especially at higher levels when you dont know the quests. You might as well forget about it. Soloing in DDO is not for the beginners, really, excepted in the lower levels. But you will inevitably reach a point where you will just get frustrated.

Try a Ranger rather than Rogue and max your Hide and Move Silently skills. The mix of stealth and ranged combat can be very effective for soloing content. It can still be very challenging at higher levels and elite setting but doable if that is what you are looking for, plenty of variety as well.

One small note the monster sensing AI is very good in DDO so some mobs like spiders sense by vibration and some react more to noise, so you can move mobs away from doors long enough to open them if you can create a distraction noise for them to investigate, is very cool but you have to do it for the challenge as there is minimal or no reward for the effort.

Finally invest in Jump skill as well, being able to go over things or get in positions they can't reach you is all part of being able to solo and stealth.

Well I've tried RoM and my comp can't really handle that mmo on lowest settings. It looks  a lot like and plays like WoW, which really sucks for me because they had a rogue class. I've also tried anarchy online, but the graphics is way to outdated for me and the controls and gui lay out was really annoying. So I guess I'll take your advice and go back to DDO for now and start a ranger. Thanks for the advice

If your comp is handling DDO there's no way it cant handle rom, i too found the rogue's in wow extremely fun but have yet to find a game where your really stealthy...most games rogues are just dual wielders that do dps and nothing more. I've heard the rogue or thief i think its called in Lotro is extremely fun, if you enjoyed fallout you also might like fallen earth?
