This is ridiculous.

Obvioulsy the mod can lock the threads but doesn't have the power to do an IP ban.

they are i'm sure. Although hes probably just using proxy IPs or some other method of getting another IP (not that advanced with IP's). Theres usually 1 of these guys who gets upset over getting banned and does this probably once every month or 2. People like this usually cool off after awhile and find out there are better things to do then stay bitter over something so small..... Nerd rage in its purest form.

Hello everybody.

The user posting all the immature comments is using some sort of proxy or another way to change his IP. He has been doing it all week and even though we IP ban him the user is always back.

Sorry for the posts and we will try to keep them contained as much as we can.

The guy kind of had a point in a previous spam about the site being ad infested though.  Worthy of spamming the forums?  Probably not but then again he does have all night and nothing else to do.  4chan must be boring at the moment.

 This reminds me of the movie masterminds, except i don't know who the bad guy is.

 He reminds me of a noob  in wow that did this to me ingame and he got banned on all for accounts he did it on.

If he is using a proxy try banning his machine ID.  Not sure if your forums can reaad that or not, but they have pacet sniffers you can install to get that info.  Ban his machine ID and no matter what IP he uses, he will be blocked

EDIT: also maybe it would be a good idea to revert back to the old way when posts were deleted and they were removed ... and not still shown

Your normal everyday home router can spoof mac addresses, so that doesn't work.  If he can change to any random address he can do this until he gets bored.  Welcome to joys of the internet.  As long as it remains completely open and anonymous this is the price to pay for that freedom.

You can't get a MAC address through IP4-6, the protocol does not send it over http connections.

The only ones who know the MAC address is you and your ISP.

Can't you simple ban the whole proxy's IP range ? Yeah, that will also block innocent people using that same proxy, but if they're using a proxy in the first place, they're maybe not that innocent ? That's a small price to pay to get ride of that no-life idiot.
