Am I missing something or do the little 'ole normal mobs, like those damned komodo dragons, hit really hard? I know I'm only level 8 but I was fighting an level 9 komodo dragon and the darn thing killed me in two hits. What am I doing wrong here, missing some gear at this level, potions, food, etc.? I'm just not having fun when the mobs are so close and hit that hard. Help me out here, any pointers?

I think a better question would be: "Why are there so many damned komodo dragons in the middle of Arizona?"

I don't have an answer since I'm only level 2, but I did get eaten by one while I was lost.

I thought this was a clan recruitment thread, lol! WOuld make a pretty good name, I think.

As for why they are there I could only speculate that they migrated there in the aftermath.

Hah, you can at least see Komodo Dragons. Wait until you reach S2 and S3 and then try to shoot ants or cockroaches in the high grass.

You may need a weapon upgrade or  skill upgrades to help?  I have found that some things just hit harder than others in this game, bug or by design not sure.

I have had to build some AP or lvl a bit  and go back to kill some stuff.  The nice thing is there are many ways to lvl up so I am sure you have other quests to work on untill you can kill the dam Komodo Dragaons.

heh, yes everthing melee hits hard. and if your characters like mine i only have like 96hp at lvl 8 an things are hitting for 10-25 per hit. so you better kill QUICK. plus dont he komodo have a nasty poison dot too?

Komodo dragons hit hard, but its also a big deal on what kind of weapon you're using, if you're going rifle, they hit much harder then if you were pistol/melee.  If you're going pistol/melee it would be a good idea to start working on dodge/armor use.  And if you're using pistols, unload like crazy, and if your using either pistols/rifle, fire from your mount and kite if you don't want to put your points in dodge or armor use (or if you don't want to spend money on armor right now).

 

EDIT: These are just suggestions, as you are obviously free to build the kind of character you want.  This is in no means a must do to be a successful rifle/pistol/melee user.

What is your Dodge skill? And what armor (if any) are you wearing? Are you rifle spec?

Low Dodge = very bad defense.

Low armor - take a lot of damage

Rifle equipped = very bad defense.

When monsters come in melee range, make sure not to have a rifle equipped. If you are a rifleman, then stun that beast and move out of melee range. If not, you're gonna get pwned.
