I am sure a forum thread has been done like this before, but I don't really care to go searching for it, so that is why this is new. I was curious if anyone would like to share some entertaining stories of a game experience they had that was kind of like payback for someone being rude, or perhaps a way of getting back at them for doing something, and it was soo much more enjoyable because of everything that happened, rather then just simple payback. I had a Night Elf Hunter and was running with a group of people working on a quest where we had to kill some elite ogres in a keep. It was me, a friend of mine (also a hunter) and 3 other people. The 3 other people were complaining that our dps was soo high that it made it difficult on them because we kept drawing aggro. We tried to tone it down a bit but they still complained and whined. Later it progressed into them talking smack to my friend. We were all up at the top of the keep, finished the requirements of the quest and everyone decides to jump off the keep to avoid running through the keep and fight our way out. The 3 guys go first, my friend follows next. Then I hit the ground and feign death. Everyone is laughing at the fact that it looks like I have died on the ground from impact, even knowing that I did not. My friend summons his pet again and starts to wander a bit away from the group. Then it finally hits one of the other 3 to ask. Hey "Nyghtmare, um....aren't you going to summon your pet again?" I reply back, "I never dismissed him, lol" The next thing you see in text is one of them type in "oh sh!t, and then 20 ogres come storming out of the keep following my pet and decimate the other 3 players and my pet I just stayed feign death and my friend was sitting on a rock on the other side of the land not moving or even chatting anything. The other 3 players get pissed call me a bunch of foul names and leave the group. My friend is still just sitting on the rock not responding at all. So I call him to see if he lost connection or went afk. He answers the phone laughing his ass off, stating that he saw the whole thing and actually fell out of his computer chair almost burning himself with a cigarette he was smoking and spilled his drink in his lap in the process and that was why he was not responding in game.

oh yeah i've done that a few times. We had a super shitty group that was just all talk and no action when it came to doing this dungeon crawl. We decided to jump off a ledge to bypass mobs (this was about an hour and a half of almost no progress). By this stage i had decided to leave and do it a spectacular fashion. As we jumped down and positioned ourselves to face the boss i feigned death and the pally (the only decent guy in the group) popped his bubble and began to hearth. Moments later half the dungeons arrives with my pet and the other 3 members of the group are completely screwed.

Here is another story that comes to mind. Sorry if it's a long read. When I first started playing Shadowbane, there was another player who was a mage assassin would always happen to run into me and had leveled a bit faster then me and would pound on my character, often resulting in my death and losing some items and gold I had aquired. I can't remember his name, so we will just call him "Player X". Now mind you this was the first of many characters I had played, and I was still learning the ropes. It would aggravate me to no ends that he would always seem to find me, kill me, then rinse and repeat. I would ask, "Why do you constantly come after me?", he would reply back, "Its nothing personal, it's just the mechanics of the game, so I do, because I can!" After playing for a couple weeks, and getting a friend to join me, I learned how to level quite fast, and rolled a Scout class character that played much like an assassin, I was able to go stealth, and as a Scout I could track stealthed characters. I had aquired a Traveller rune which allowed me to jump from various gate locations in the world so I could get around better, and had aquired some really decent gear. My friend followed suit as he liked what we were able to accomplish with this character type. We decided to try and camp the spawning ground of an NPC that dropped a Commander rune which was quite valuable for the group bonuses it gave, which made it valuable for sieges upon other guilds. We arrived at the location where the NPC would appear and quietly waited for him to show up while in stealth as to avoid being PK'd. Shortly later, Player X showed up and sat down. That was the biggest mistake he could make as he was sitting down we did more damage upon our attack. Just before attacking him, we pickpocketed him, gaining a couple of items and a portion of his gold Then we both coordinated our sneak attacks, and within seconds he was dead, and we were stealthed again. He came back this time a bit more cautious, but to his suprise we were still able to take him down quite easily. This would progress for over an hour, occasionally he would bring a friend to try and survive, but to no success. He gave up, we got the commander rune. The next day we arrive to get the rune again, and Player X was there with 3 other people waiting for the NPC to spawn. We stayed stealthed and just waited. The NPC showed, his group killed the NPC, he picked up the commander rune, and then I pickpocketed it off him immediately. Not realizing he didn't have it his group happily ran off, about 2-3 minutes later he returned by himself ranting and raving in the chat about how he doesnt deserved to be robbed and Pk'd, and cursing up a storm. Once he stopped moving around I unstealthed directly in front oh him, opened up trade, showed him the rune, then closed trade, and started to laugh. Player X then asked, "What is your problem, why do you kill and steal from me?" I sat there in front of my computer with a huge grin and replied, "Its nothing personal, it's just the mechanics of the game, so I do, because I can!". I like to believe he knew exactly who I was, allthough it is unclear whether or not he harrassed others and used the same line or not. Regardless he was outraged and attacked me. Turns out the way my character was built along with the quality of equipment I had, made me far more superior then him, and he could barely hurt me. I continued to slowly drain his life using procs from my weapons, then backing off just enough to let him heal. He couldn't outrun me, nor could he hide. I followed him all the way back to the doorsteps of his guild city tormenting him, and then finally put him out of his misery. Later on down the way I would occassionally run into him here and there, and he would plug-pull (that's an immediate disconnect) upon sight. Everytime I saw this I couldn't help but feel total satisfaction that someone got what was coming to them. |

I was a pally healer in WoW, and they made me raid heal, and we wiped a ton. They blamed it on me not having healbot and sucking. So they booted me. My friend got to stay in the raid, and told me they brought in a druid healer. And after wiping many times, the raid leader requested I come back... ...I said no. Now my servers to dead to raid...
