Hey guys. I used to play EQ back in the Kunark/Velious days and my highest char was 39 cleric. So I never saw end game or anything. Since then I've played EQ2, WoW, Warhammer, Champions, Darkfall, and currently playing Aion. Suffice it to say that none has captured the magic that EQ had for me. So out of whim I just resubscribed after 7 years. I need help with the servers. I can't seem to find this informaton searching the net. 1) What is the most popular server, besides Mayong? I want to start fresh. 2) Any chance I'll run into other newbies in the classic starting zones like Gfay? 3) How are roleplaying and the pvp servers. Do people follow the ruleset? How is the pop? Thanks!

I myself have been thinking of playing again I used to play on Tallon zek but after the entire pvp merger i moved over and restarted on Karana/Rathe it seemed to be moving very well and had a good population and its not super hard to get up in lvl with hot zones now (I got from 1 to 65 in one day but than again i had my druid plvling my warrior and a lot of support from some freinds once i hit 50). I can't remember exactly but i think the RP server was the most populated when i played but I believe all servers are well populated depending on what you're looking for. EQ- Tallon zek |

If you are euro timezone based, you want Antonius Bayle.
If you are US timezone based, Stromm is often recommended for returning players, but there are quite a few other servers that are fairly equal in terms of population.
RP server is Firiona Vie, and yes roleplaying happens quite often on that server. PvP server is Zek, I would say Zek is the lowest populated server, I can't comment much on it other than that.
Would you bump into players in classic racial starting towns? Most likely not. But if you choose to start in Crescent Reach, which is the newest starting zone, implemented when Drakkin race was added, you most likely will see others. EQ1-AC1-DAOC-FFXI-L2-EQ2-WoW-DDO-GW-LoTR-VG-WAR I can't believe I'm playing EQ1 again...and having tons of fun |

I play on Vazzaelle/Maelin Starmpyre. Its seems kind low population so i encourage you to come her to boost it up a bit :) Honestly I dont know where you should go and I am going to temporarily hijack your thread with a question for my personal gain that might end up helping you.... (thx in advance) How does the Vazzaelle Maelin Starmpyre population compare to other servers? It seems really slow over here but I am not leaving because of old friends and my guild. Im ust curious. |
