Darkfall has almost 17K in unique hits at nearly 8AM EST. Wtf? Aion, the number 2 place has about 2k. DARKFALL HAS 17K HITS. That's weird. Again, Aion has 2k. That is 15K LESS THAN DARKFALL. That's weird. Not that it matters anyway, just interested to see why this is happening. :P |

It's just merely word of mouth. Don't fret. |

Well, that wouldn't be the first time DFO is involved in shady stuff. It is obvious manipulation, or maybe Tasos is giving away free moussakas to people who access the forums in Greece. When the game is lacking, you gotta find some other ways to feed the monkey. And I must admit AV is pretty good at that. |

If you are a bit of a tech guy, it's not hard to create or even download some little program that hits a sertain section of a website over and over and over again to generate hits. We had that kind of programs in my previous job to run performance tests against our websites and web applications. You can completely trottle and manipulate these performance programs to generate a sertain amount of hits, with random time intervals. All that kind of stuff. Cheers |

Oh yes, I completely agree. I was being a little sarcastic to lighten up things a bit. I am just amazed as to the reasoning behind it. But desperate times call for desperate measures. |

Since when has Aventurine not been desperate? They always have and always will. Up till the moment they pull the plug and sail away in their little rowboat with the little cash they have left. So this doesn't suprise me one single bit. |

It is weird!
The same thing happend to the movie "The Dark Knight". It was accused of having used forbidden and secret ways to make people go and see it. Lots of consiracy there to. Critics the the movie shouted "its just a freaking Batman movie!, no way it can make 900 million dollars without cheating".

Just let him. We all know DarthRaiden by now. Don't we. Every sane person knows that Darkfall has been death in the water and has gotten pretty much ZERO attention lately. Every sane person knows that AION has been in the spotlights the last month. And then seeing Darkfall generating that many hits. Yeah right. Just some desperate fanbois or even Tasos himself who figured out how to run a Website Performance Tool and run it against the DF section of this website. |

I think it makes perfect sense. Since more and more people are starting to despise WoW it's logical that these people would look for a game that is its total opposite. |

They provide enough new content in them that they can call them expansions especially with them being free. This is not uncommon throughout the entire MMO industry. People only make a big deal out of it because they want another reason to rag on this game. There are many good reasons to rag on this game, but trolls do not like to stick to honest criticism alone.
The hit thing is odd definitely though. |

Yeah, I'll admit it was a quick jump compared to a couple of weeks/months ago. Something's fishy around here ;) |

You obviously overead the posts in the popularity thread saying that many lurkers just visit these part of the forum and simply don't post ? What hotspot? Darkfall hasn't been a hotspot for over 6 months man! Sorry to burst your bubble. If you take a look at the 6 month popularity results, then Darkfall isn't even in the list! The amount of hits being generated for Darkfall right now exceed the other games by that much. It's unnatural. So please, give me a break. You don't need to be a rocket scientist to see something fishy is going on here. That it's interestingly fun and new popcorn material. Wich Darkfall hasn't been the last 6 months. That's a different matter lol. |

I admit i havent watched that number at all and if it wasn't the subject of these thread i wouldn't have probably. What i see is the obsession in those haters to track the forums here hasn't obviously become less intense over time. I see you post here just today , don't you ? and Darkfall is in the 6 months pupolarity tab placed as 2nd ! there you have it. -----MY-TERMS-OF-USE-------------------------------------------------- "There was suppression of speech and all kinds of things between disturbing and fascistic." Come on Daarco, You and I go way, way back. We know, I'm a troll and you are the poster child for good things like DFO, we all get that, ok? Putting that aside, even you have to find it odd that DFO gets 13k more hits on this site than the next closest one. You are too smart not to agree.
Fear not fanbois, we are not trolls, let's take off your tin foil hat and learn what VAPORWARE is: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vaporware "Vaporware is a term used to describe a software or hardware product that is announced by a developer well in advance of release, but which then fails to emerge after having well exceeded the period of development time that was initially claimed or would normally be expected for the development cycle of a similar product." |
