Darkfall is so popular?

PvP players post a lot, it's something been there since AC1 Darktide days.  Heck go check out darktide forum on acvault.ign.com and you would think that game is the most popular game out there.

I think the mmorpg.com's chart for most popular (which I think is what OP is basing this thread about) is based on number of hits for a game, so that really is easy to generate, not to mention pvp players just love to post on the forums

If you come to an mmo site for any length of time, how do not know that EVE is awesome?  Even if you don't play or it's not your style, the majority can agree how important this game is for the genre.

 I think its still beeing manipulated by some fanboi or worse, by darkfall staff. 

Just look at the difference between Darkfall and Aion and you know there is something fishy

I have to agree. It is obvious that the "unique hits" are in fact being manipulated.

Define popular? Do you mean it's popular to talk on forums about Darkfall, or that they have a large subscription base?

The subs for DF, I believe, are rather small compared to the average successful MMORPG.

Yes it was, someone just posted that they got banned because AV screwed their account info after they paid for 6 months in advance, I think thats what got it the attention, DF gets attention when things like this happen and ppl tend to go there and pretty much get some entretainment out of the fanbois trying to spin it as a good thing.

 

Bad news always sells better than good news and attracts a higher ratio of readers.

Darkfall has had more than it's fair share of bad news stories since being released.

 

I can't answer for the other hits on this forum, but for me personally, I check out the Darkfall forum to see the epic debates and mud slinging. Its like a train wreck, a crowd will gather to watch.

the forums for this game are like a safe haven for trolls so of course it be really popular.

Its my fault. I've been using free trails to advertise for darkfall. you caught me.

 in game politics guild vs guild pvp nuff said its offersomething nothing on the market does atm love it or hate it but its what every mmo should strive to be fuk rules and restrictions theres enough of that shit in rl

Meh, I don't trust hits on this site for ratings, why should you? WoW has upwards of 11 million players and hasn't hit #1 in ages, it means nothing. Furthermore, I can proxy and pump in over 60 unique hits per hour easily.
