I'm looking for a good FREE 3D MMORPG that will suit me and my computer...My computer is almost 5 years old and it's starting to show it's age...BUT I've played a lot of games on it and I still have yet to find the right game...I don't like games that are too dark or too cutesy when it comes to the theme of a game...I don't have any loot to waste on a game, so no P2P...I really like games that have GOOD character customization... but not just at the beginning...When I say that, I mean that as you play you see your character change physically and ability-wise...That way you can stand out a bit amongst the other players...(for example: 3 or 4 different armors at each lvl or the ability to choose one skill over the other)...That way each player is different...Also, no Asian themed MMO's unless they have a EXTREMELY unique style of gameplay...

These are the MMO's I've played and why I quit them:

WoW:$$$(I played for 2 years and I liked it!! ^.^)

RoM: LAG in certain areas or at certain times

AO: Download problems in the beginning, LAG, and occasional screen freeze during fights

Jade Dynasty: GRIND

Ether Saga: Cutesy GRIND

PW: Kind of grindy and I kept getting lost while flying when I was trying to find quests (Hopefully they have a better map system now)

DOMO: The job system need tweaking (I would have liked to use my secondary skills regardless of what lvl I'm at with my primary ones) ...They should take notes from RoM on the making a good job system...and the crafting sucked too...Plus it was too hard to make in game money...

E2: I just played during the trial...Maybe if I played it more, I would have grown to like it

Fiesta: Too cutesy. It seemed it catered more to kids. Also, in the beginning you can only choose 3 types of BLUE hair... so everyone has BLUE hair...that bothered me just a bit...

Flyff: After lvl 30...GRIIIIIIND!!! Plus, I wish I didn't have to wait so many lvls to change my armor...a lot players that didn't have money for the cash shop ended up looking the same...

Gates of Andreon: You can't do quests in another area til you lvl up, which means you have to do the same quests over and over again...GRIND x GRIND= Boredom...

Florensia: LAGGGG!!!

Rappelz: LAGGGG!!!

Rohan: Downloading issues kept me from playing the game...

Mabinogi: Hate the age system, hate the fighting system, and crafting was tedious especially when you couldn't make exactlly what you wanted til you were at a certain lvl in that crafting skill...

Ragnarok: Only played the trial and I couldn't figure out why I kept dying so easily...

Tales of Pirates and Angels Online: They couldn't keep my attention long enough...

Runescape and Maple Story: I'll let you figure out why I quit these two...LOL!!

Now Dragonica is giving me problems with corrupt files on the Official download and 2 of the mirror sites!!

Please help...I'm running out of opinions and the newer games are starting to become too graphicly intense for my computer to handle...I would greatly appreciate the help...

Have I played too many games? Am I being too picky?

I know how you feel.  Basically, what it comes down to is finding a game that you enjoy. You can't force yourself to enjoy something. If you can't find games that you enjoy, then maybe you're looking at the wrong type of games?

I know Fable (a single player RPG) has some interesting customization. Stats, attributes, and your character even changes appearance based on what you do in the game world. If you perform evil deeds, then you become sinister looking with scars on your face and whatnot.

That's the best advice I can give.  Oh you could also try Dungeons And Dragons Online, or The Chronicles of Spellborn.

I'm stuck with trying to find a new MMO myself aswell.

I dont think your being picky, just stuck in that "rut" a lot of us get into.

I've even went back to playing Cabal temporarily at the moment till I can find something thatll run satisfactory on my laptop that only has an older Gforce 6 series card and 1gig or ram.

I end up falling out of most games because its just like the previous ones with no originality in todays F2P games.

I want to try Chroncles of Spellborn, but I'm not sure if my computer can handle it...And DDO has too much of a dark feel for me...

I was thinking about Anarchy Online, but when I Iook at the screenshots, it looks so drab and boring...

I would like for the look of the game to be somewhere between WoW cartoony and FFXI "anime realistic"...without the spiky hair...LOL!!

I would love to play FABLE!! But I like being able to interact and compete with other players...That why I loved WoW....I was apart of 2 good active guilds...and I was able to chat it up when I got tired of fighting...plus I got the help that I needed to progress...I haven't found that in any other MMO yet...

It has a list of games broken down into sections from broswer based, to various mmo genres. A lot of the games there were between cartoony an anime-ish. At one point they were only listing F2P games.

The site provides quite a number of screen shots and in gameplay trailers, pros and cons section tagged on each game.

Just another suggestion. Mainly because its were I am heading atm to snoop around

Thanks for your support and for that suggestion. I've been on there before. Maybe I'll check there again and see if I missed anything...

One game I wanted to try is Ryzom...But I was dissappointed when I heard it was going back to a P2P format...T.T
