AV have been giving away free trial codes at an event in Greece, most likely as a small scale test of the system.
If it does turn out to be free trials I highly recommend people grab a key. Playing polished, lag free, feature complete games is carebear. Whining about a game you hate but still play is hardcore man! |

Maybe they will start it up sometime after the next expansion hits. If they intend on going with a trial, that would be wise. |

I would give a free trial a go for sure. Been on the fence about this one for awhile now, a free trial would give me and many others a chance to see for ourselves. |

supposedly boxes are going to be sold soon as well. There is a code for box sales added to both the na and eu account systems. |

If they really are going to offer a free trial, I'll be all over it. Current: Ryzom, DFO |

what they probably won't do is offer an open free trial. I say this because unlike most games DFO has full loot and like most games with ffa pvp and full loot the game has hacks. It would be to easy to cheat the game with an open free trial. It will probably have an invite a friend before anything else ... could be wrong. though. |

Its probably the best thing DF can do, but it seems a bit early for open trials. I would think they would wait til after the expansion and the transfer fiasco is finished. Although maybe it would be better to do it at the same time as transfers to give the game a fuller image. |

It seems they were giving out 10-day Trials at Digital World '09 taking place in Athens, Greece through October 31, 2009. I haven't seen any other information on these trials, so it is unknown if there are any restrictions placed on them or not. I doubt there is.
Personally, I think if trials do come out, that they will be through a Buddy-Key system. But then again, who the heck knows what Aventurine will do. 601 |

If AV offers Trials they need to be atleast 21 days long. You need time to skill up, not everyone plays hardcore. Im one of those guys that play a MMO around 10 hours a week if im lucky. Many people play the way I do so giving extra time to understand the game would benefit both AV and the new player. Why would I play a pathetic themepark MMO when I could enjoy a masterpiece like Mass Effect, Oblivion, Fallout 3 and Dragon Age? |

With their massive user base how can you doubt them Ego? They easily have enough money to give away free months to every WoW player since they are more popular on here then WoW don-cha-know. |
