Wrath of the Lich King, because its the ToA of WoW.
But if playing by the rules, I would have to pick LotRO, because it basically wasted a great IP and turned a boatload of decent people into complainers about ANYTHING. At least the german LotRO community is just pathetic. |

Star Wars Galaxies. Please, it needs to be gone. Maybe they'll build back the Pre-NGE SWG then :D ____________________________ "I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but I know World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones." - Albert Einstein |

Rules be damned. I'd destroy WoW. |

I support this idea. "Gamers will no longer buy the argument that every MMO requires a subscription fee to offset server and bandwidth costs. It's not true — you know it, and they know it." —Jeff Strain, co-founder of ArenaNet, 2007 |

After some thought I chose Ultima Online. No sense having a game that made you wonder when the gank was coming or who was camping for door to steal your key or who the hell is riding around in your ship. Without Pre-Ren UO, carebearism would have been the norm from the start and we wouldn't have an idea of what a game should be. Imagine WoW with full loot rules and horde could kill horde then go kill alliance only to hear, "WTF hackzorz nubz pwnz me ubar lutz". Lineage would be a close second. It would have been first but we all know that allowed them to make L2 and Aion. With no L2 or Aion, hundreds possibly thousands of families wouldn't get sweet and sour saunce with their rice and Chinas economy would collapse due to the massive revenue loss. The revenue loss would have an effect on the regon which would kill off most gaming companies leaving us with less grindfest ni hao buy my gold games. |

Shadowbane... All those elitist pvp'ers who say everything else is "carebear" and how their game is the best because... oh wait it's gone. How about Matrix: Online. Yeah that one should blow up. The IP was bastardized and abandoned by it's creators and handed over to SOE, it deserves to ... oh damn it's gone? Huh... Ok then next I'd have to say Hellgate: London. That game was such a PoS, they were even offering LIMITED LIFETIME MEMBERSHIPS and... oh wait... it's dead too. Then my pick would DEFINETLY be Tabula Rasa. I'd love to see that egomaniac Lord/General Brrrrrrrritish's game explode into vapor after promising sliced fried gold and the game was good in concept but poorly executed, even... oh hell that one vanished into the ether too. Hmmm, ok then... well I've gotten my wishes so far... let's roll for one more shall we? Everquest. All the self-proclaimed oldskool vets bitch about how this game was, yet won't ever play it again. The rest of the sane community got sick of the term "camping" and realized they'd like to explore and enjoy the world rather than stare at the screen waiting for mobs to "pop". The stale fart of things best left forgotten, the 16 expansions of content they made players pay for and the mental stigma that in a game called "Everquest", that questing was a bad thing and shittily implemented from the get go. Yes, Neverquest deserves to be nuked from orbit. "There is only one thing of which I am certain, and that's nothing is certain." |

Same here, just because I might not find many to appealing I can not ignore that others do enjoy them, so obvious as a gamer I don't want any MMORPG to be destroyed not even the ones I dislike. I understand I should have ignored this topic, but I simply can not understand why gamers even would consider to destroy a game regardless what their feeling is to those games. ------------------------------------------------------------ |

I would not destroy any, even the ones that I downright despise, because of a couple reasons: 1) competition helps
and
2) people put tons and tons of hours of their lives into an MMO, I would hate for them to see the game they made die; it's like a failing marriage to completely fail at a real life job of yours.
I would not destroy any. even darkfall i would not. |

thing is practically none of the new mmo's would have been out if WoW didn't take mmo's into the mainstream and prove that its profitable. My pick would have to be SWG the game sucked the moment it was installed |

SWG IT MUST BE DESTROYED! It has been long enough. Let its rein of shittiness be devoured

Wow so many people have the same idea. Yeah I have to say Star Wars Galaxies as well. That game just needs to die. I think it finally will with the release of SWTOR though, so we might not have to wait much longer. |

After mandatory prison sentences and some quality time with their new "boyfriends" (I don't think the internet tough guy thing would last long after a little sodomy in the real world), they'd have to register within their communities as "online offenders". Yeah, I'm exaggerating a little. But only a little. It's a bad game, with a worse community, run by a terrible company. Fail, fail, and fail. Nuke it.
Note: I'm not an advocate of eliminating a game because of some idiotic "public outrage" within the MMO community. The people who like their chosen game should be able to play it, no matter how many or how few subs it has, or how many other people don't like it. I'm just going with the theme of the OP.
LOL what a hater
I expect the great Darkfall to be around for another 10-15 years just so I can see you squirm with envy when you post against it |

Tried it, it was garbage. Not anywhere near the sandbox game it was touted as. Oh, and it has the worst community I've ever even heard of. It's all yours, buddy. Just, please, promise us you'll stay right there and never leave it to infect, er, I mean try another game. Hell hath no fury like an MMORPG player scorned. |

I agree with the destruction of ALL current MMOs. The last GOOD one that I played was Asheron's Call. Everything about that game was perfect, and if Turbine could re-release it with modernized graphics and systems, I would be happy. Asheron's Call 2 was ok, but it was a different type of game, and the graphics reqs were WAY too high for any of my computers I had at the time. |

I was going to say Eve as I think it is pure crap and have always been totally confused as to why this site and its posters have always proclaimed it the best thing since KY Jelly. But I think the two posters who picked LIneage/Lineage II are right. Without them, North America may have dodged the asian crapfest and we would never have been tainted by all the crap p2p and f2p games that are flooding the market. The explosion of asian-designed games has set back the genre far more than WoW has. |

No, you're not trolling. You're delusional. Seek help. Darkfall is one of the worst games currently on the market, and the worst attempt at a sandbox MMO in history. I'm glad you're happy with it, though, and I hope you stay there for the rest of your gaming life. Hell hath no fury like an MMORPG player scorned. |

Heh, Aion seems to have some WoW-ish potential for hate. I would kill one non-mainstream MMO, that is RF Online, because of its P2P->F2P switch that created an item mall in which is the only viable option for a lot of mechanics that got broken with this transition, like equipment upgrading. I'd prefer to kill the first MMO that introduced the pay-to-win concept, but then we could be killing MUDs... |

Eve online, it's boring as hell and not really a game. "World of Warcraft is the perfect implementation of this genre." - Hilmar Petursson. CEO of CCP. |

Ok I removed the WoW rule since it seems everyone was all whiny and such because of it. Just please try and make a valid argument as to why you pick WoW other than "its more popular than my game!!" -Computer specs no one cares about: check. -MMOs played no one cares about: check. -Xfire stats no one cares about: check. -Signature no one cares about: check. ------------------------------------------------------------ |
