If everybody who created a Diablo clone was the new blizzard, we'd have a lot of blizzards by now. To call a company behind a small budget game that doesn't even have multiplayer the new Blizzard is silly. |

I'd play it in a heartbeat if it had coop multiplayer like D2. How many people played D2 not on b.net? Maybe 1%? Torchlight needs multiplayer to really grab peoples attention. ------------------------- |

Torchlight seems like just a cash grab so Runic can fund their free to play MMO thats in development. PS - no way in hell I'd ever pay for a single player Diablo clone. |

I have it, it is a really solid good fun dungeon bash...no particular weaknesses, however it does feel quite limited. I've played for a couple of days and I feel like there is nothing new left to do. 3 classes with few interesting abilities. Combat mostly consists of *right click > huge explosions > can't see anything > all enemies are dead > 99% of loot is worthless Only had it a couple of days but i don't feel like I want to get back in and play. |

How can you even compare this to D2 when it looks all funny and cartoony, are these guys freaking serious? Looking at this crap almost makes me laugh. |

I just tried Neo Steam a couple of weeks ago and this game's graphics reminded me of NS. Is this Online or like Diablo which can be and cannot? |

Well, after trying the game demo i must say, it is really fun. It doesnt add nothing new, but for all diablo fans its a great game, and lets face it, what they ask are little change, 14,99 euros is what i pay for a monthly fee of any game. So, to buy a full game for this price is extremely cheap. If this is a way to fund some f2p mmo i say go ahead, judging by what they did here they seem to be very competent. Im really inclined to buy it, the demo gave me some good time of fun and im looking forward to advance in this game. |

Funny how some weeks ago most people said "I won't buy the game" and a lot even "I won't try the free demo", and now many people are like "woah it's incredible". ^^ They're not the new Blizzard though. I bought the game on release day, finished now the quest storyline with one char. The game is great for the amount of $$$ it costs, but for a full price game I'd have expected more. I'm currently waiting for them to release the editor and I'm curious how much you can change with it. Still, it's one of the better Diablo clones. Though Titan Quest was great as well. |

Torchlight = a simplified , less fun, Diablo 2 for children. It's their right to do it since they are among the creators of Diablo 2 but there's absloutely no reason to play it if you played Diablo 2. World of Warcraft is a proof that MMORPG quality should affect schedule/budget and not the other way around. |

Torchlight is an ok / mediocre game it just does'nt have the " Diablo X factor " :( |

Addicting, fun, fast-paced... And super f'ing easy. I beat the game normal and was able to beat it hardcore after with my 'alchemist'. It's a good game, just ... easy. A good fast-paced game that can rekindle your love for dungeon crawlers. played: lots |

Get back to us when Torchlight becomes an MMO. Torchlight and Fate suffered the same problem from Travis...SINGLE PLAYER. That alone is enough not to try the game. It looks great, but since my wife and I can't play it useless. I'd rather play DS or D2 for example. Like many I was excited about Torchlight until that glaring issue turned me away. |

So is this site being paid by these guys or is this suddenly an MMO and does not belong in the General Gaming area? |

Hack and slash is compelling? I do admit to liking mindless killing now and then though. My favorite Diablo clone (better actually imo) was Titan Quest.
I agree Titans Quest, even with its minor bug annoyances, is a severely underrated game. It's a simple world for complicated people! Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so. |

Diablo 3 will be an AAA title.
Torchlight? B title at most.
Single Player only. You would have more success if you made a topic based on Borderlands. |

It's from Travis Baldree, creator of Fate...It's like a newer version of Fate with classes! |

This reminds me of a Dungeon Runners with less humor. |

Fate, Hellgate: London, Mythos, Torchlight... They're all connected. Torchlight is getting pretty good buzz. There is promise of making it "multiplayer", but I wouldn't hold my breath. "There is only one thing of which I am certain, and that's nothing is certain." |
Originally posted by ANDRIOD This. They were probably short in money so they released this single-player version of Torchlight for $19,90. Don't get me wrong, it's not an AAA title but it is still a lot of fun for the Action RPG genre fans that won't care about the total lack of multiplayer. Too early to know how well the MMO will be though, being partner of Perfect World, I'm expecting the MMO version to be yet another cash hog. |

Remember Rabbids cant play MMO's, but they can dance! |
Ill have to head over and look at Torchlight. I love diablo type games. (AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH engages Diablo in plunger to claw combat) |
|
The single player version is just a small step before they actually finish the Torchlight MMO. These guys made Diablo great and also Matt Uelman also did the music for World of Warcraft. |
