Don't know if this have already been posted or no but I decided to post it anyways. Sorry if it's posted already.

I think it does good for Warhammer. I loved the game when I played it but I gave up because I got Blue Screen of Death in every third battleground I went to.

But what do you guys think, good or bad? If they still don't get enough players will they go to f2p like DDO? Discuss.

In my opinion going f2p would be a good option for them, the population was really bad and no one was to be seen anywhere in the lower tiers last time i played.

Solving the fundamental shallowness of cobmat would be a better solution for them, but perhaps that's not reasonable. :/

I agree with Axehilt.  Making War F2P would fix the fundamental problems of the game.  Because those problems are within it's core mechanics. The combat is just one of many problems people had with the game.  Though fixing combat would probably pull some people back.

Every game should be F2P. No game is worth the subscription price.

Well others are it just may be a precursor.

I can think of

Saga of Ryzom - for a time (may be over now)

Chronicles of Spellborn

Dungeons and Dragons online

If I had my game out there and it wasn't getting attention I thought it was worth... if I were truly convinced that on its merit ppl would play it if they could get past the price barrier - I'd do the same thing. For a game to release free for a time after it's been paid sounds like this to me, they just don't feel they are exposed but they like their product.

Once I had my subs of course I'd start ramping up something or else I couldn't afford the server but at that point the patrons see value in the product. For a large company - they may have some credit they can take out to keep up operating costs while running on less income.

It's like giving away food samples at a grocery store then someone buys the product or at least knows now they like it if they can't afford it this week and may suggest it to another person.

That's a reason I won't trust games that don't offer me a trial - no reason to hide your awesome product away behind 50 bucks, if it's good I'll see that.
