Most of my WAR playtime this week has involved the current Live Event, Daemon Moon Rising. I think this has been one of the best Live Event’s yet. It has sparked quite a bit of RvR with the PQ and bringing the back High Pass Cemetery scenario. See for yourself after the jump.

In this week’s video we see the Event boss fight, fighting over the PQ and some action in High Pass Cemetery. All of this was run at High graphic settings and was a lot of fun. This particular event was very kind to me reward wise. The Wild Hunt’s elite reward eluded me due to vacation, this time I did manage to reach it.

The Malleus Daemonarium is a temporary item for your characters event slot. It expires when the next Live Event starts in 60 days. I managed to win a gold (Massive) bag off of Goreslake the Bloodthrister, the big boss in the video. Inside the bag was the Magnus Daemonarium. This is also an event slot item, but expires in 14 days.

It is a bit better than the item from the Live Event. Last but not least, we were able to siege the Inevitable City. We didn’t make it to stage 2, but we took out some of the Hero mobs who work there. One of them was kind enough to give me a new cloak. Overall I’ve had a great time in the event.

The High Pass Cemetery was a nice change of pace. Getting the Elite reward takes some time, but should be attainable by most players. I’m leaving the masks you can wear for another post, but they were a neat idea too.

Whilst I've enjoyed the live event, especially the increased content within the RvR zones, it's extremely frustrating to know that all this work on content is going to be flushed down the tube when the event is over.

Live events are one thing in a behemoth game like WoW, War needs them like a man dying of thirst needs a gold watch.

Not everyone at Mytic can work on fixing bugs, some have to do new artwork ect, and people are asking for more content as well, I loved this LE, I'v finished it on three of my chars now.

I agree they have to change the City-seige to something completely new and innovating to kick this game into pace again though.

Where did I mention fixing bugs?

The fact that people are crying out for more content is precisely the point. All the work the "Live Event" team spent improving the game with Daemon Moon will be flushed down the toilet. A complete and utter waste of resources in the long run.

My point about the WoW comparison is that at it's core, WoW is a functionally finished game. Temporary content is fine there because the game is solid without it. Warhammer needs more permanent content, it doesn't need to have the hard work of it's staff thrown away. Reikland Factory being removed is a prime example of this. That was among the best scenarios in the game and they removed it because it was a "Live Event".
