I'm not a ganker, I don't run in big guilds, but I do like endgame PvP games like WAR and WoW and DAOC.
I know it's early, but how are the prospects for FE's endgame PvP? Does there appear to be good systems in place for it? Are there decent rewards/carrots to endgame PvP?
I hate nothing more in my MMORPGs than to hit max level, then rut out of ways to at least gradually (via PvP) improve my character. MMORPGs must have endgame "growth" of some kind to survive. |

The PvP fights themselves works very well. Its actually easier to hit a moving player than it is to hit a moving mob for some reason. It feels like the engine has been optimized for PvP and not PvE. The way you take a town in S2 otoh is a little bleh, you do PvE quests in a the PvP zone in order to flip over a towns faction and the point is to protect your own questers while you kill the enemy questers. Sounds good on paper but in reality its too grindy and there is little point to actually fight for a town since it all takes place in the wilds outside the town. We had a 24 man force taking a town and it took 5 hours of grinding to do so and honestly it was boring at the end. I hear it gets better in S3. Lets hope so. I want to kill other players for town control, not some plants and NPCs. |

There is no endgame (unless you quit) |

Endgame? What is this you speak of? Oh, you mean that trash WoW shoved down our throats to subisttute for actual meaningful gameplay. Sandbox style games do not have an endgame. |

WoW shouldnt have pvp at all IMO, WoW lost the War in Warcraft. as soon as they added the shared faction towns, Bootybay, AQ,Shat,Dala and so on, from there pvp became a mini game not a WAR. But as far as FE goes, yes faction control pvp, but 90% are still to low to really exp. anything, after all the lvl cap is 40ish for now but It will top out at 150 over time. |

Not really. There are some rewards that can be gained only through PvP but the game hasn't really developed far in that direction. There's faction warfare but it's also weak at the moment. Guild vs Guild warfare isn't implemented and there's no sieging as such. They have more planned but it's not in yet. You asked a question that has HUGE DEBATES attached to it at this time. Faction warfare is implemented and works PERFECTLY. Guild matches work perfectly if the guild does what the devs want make only have 1 faction. Mixed faction guilds are having huge problems because: 1. They are not playing the game as intended 2. They think the devs should change the game to suit them specifically instead of playing as intended 3. penalities for playing incorrectly are upsetting the people that refuse to play as expected.
If you shoot a person of the same faction, you get penalized. This makes sense and is PERFECT AS IS. Multifaction guilds attacking multifaction guilds means people shooting and killing allies. This creates penalties. There are not bugs in this system. There are people misusing the system and whining because they are getting penalized.
So the answer to your question really depends on what YOU think of as meaningful. The only way for you to really see it is to play it and see for yourself. So download a trial and do so. www.jumpgateevolution.com Twitch based flight, join us. |

Devs announced already that they are gonna push the level cap periodically and their aim is to have it stop at level 150 (now it's 45). So it's not like you're gonna be stuck at the cap level for a longer time. REALITY CHECK |

Seriously?!?! If multifaction clans can be created and joined then how are they not "playing the game as intended". Your 1-3 are just your own personal opinion definately not the opinion or intention of the devs. I took the liberty of correcting them for you. Your own personal expectations for pvp doesn't make everyone else wrong. Fact is there are multifaction clans. They can pvp with or against you and others in their same faction. They do take the same faction hit for killing someone of the same faction as you do. Instead of calling them wrong for playing within the parameters of the current game and pvp system, how bout coming up with a better solution that won't cause a lot of current multifaction clans to be disbanded.

How can you say he is wrong? The pvp is based on faction vs faction. The devs are the ones who are wrong, they should have placed a restriction on clans by not letting the multifaction to occur. Why should someone be penalized for killing a member of their faction, who was in an opposing clan, who was attacking them? Sounds pretty stupid to me. To fix the problem, you either take away the faction hit, or, you remove multifaction clans and the problem is also fixed. Pick your poison? |

I can say he is wrong because the devs spent years making this game. To say they are wrong in allowing multifaction clans to exist or that multifaction clans aren't playing the game as intended is real presumptuous on anyones part that isn't working for Icarus. Do you believe they put no thought into how clans would work? Whether single faction or multifaction wasn't discussed at length during the developement of Fallen Earth? I'm not saying it's a perfect system but everyone takes the same faction hit for killing a fellow faction member. If someone is happy taking the hit and all they do is PvP then eventually they won't have a faction to call their own due to the point loss. Yes they can farm rep after killing fellow faction members but so can the people defending themselves from those types of attacks. The people that don't go out of their way to kill their own faction will farm a lot less rep to get back to where they want to be (since they will only have to do so when defending themselves) then the player that kills everything in sight regardless of faction. If you remove multifaction clans the problem won't be fixed. You will still have PvP clans that just want to kill other players. They don't mind the faction hit. Then the complaint will be that the faction hit is too small. It is a never ending cycle. People will always find something to complain about instead of just playing the game the way it is. The faction hit isn't a game breaker for me. Getting rid of multifaction clans will be though since I enjoy playing with the people in my current clan and have played with them since prelaunch. As far as a solution goes. The best thing I can come up with is a first shot system. If someone in the same faction as you hits you first then you will get no faction loss in killing them. As a matter of fact to prevent purposeful faction killing give the player that fired the first shot the faction hit whether they kill or are killed. That kind of system would work with me and would only upset the kill everyone on sight players. Plus it wouldn't involve getting rid of multifaction clans. |

Whats max level in game? I know when I was playing I had this little level number that I'd get after killing and doing so many missions. What happens after you hit that max level? Can you max out all your skills? Can you change all your skill set to try your hand at a differant part of the game? Or do you create another toon to play that role? I guess you could consider being maxed out waiting on more content a sandbox if you want.
