I'm really thinking Harry Potter is the shoe-in for most likely to be made MMO. It has insane MMO potential. I'm sure it wouldn't be done right, though.

No use getting excited.

I would say Farscape would make a good mmo.

Of course I know about them! That's Otheym from the Dune mini-series by the Sci-Fi Channel... All I meant was that it was a book first and the movie(s) are widely despised by most fans of the novels. Myself, well I watched the original back when it was in the theatre, and actually enjoyed the mini-series (both of them), though I do agree they could have been much better. I am also a big fan of the original Dune RTS... 8)

Playing: Guild Wars

I would do anything for a Chronicles of Narnia MMO. I'm not too sure how the game mechanics would go, but I've always wanted to visit Narnia. Since I can't get there though my wardrobe, I guess I'll have to settle for the next best thing; through my computer screen. And hey, some of the races there are especially interesting too. Like the mermaids!

Though I've always envisioned Narnia to be more of a sandbox though, because I can't see it following a rigid class/profession structure. It would be a lot more relevant to the world itself if you could chose to specialise in what you wanted rather than simply following the class structure, something like EVE Online.

Purple Was Kisu (Ranger/Dervish) - Guild Wars
Erlienne Karr - EVE Online
Canthing (Feca) - Dofus Online

I'm in ur MMO.
Soloin' ur mobs.

Firefly would make an awesome space-western based sandbox.

For the themepark, I'm thinking zombies.Resident Evil, Land of the Dead.  Instances where the goal isn't to get to the bottom, kill the boss and get the loot. It's just to get the hell out before you get dead.

World needs a survival-horror MMO, I reckon.

Not laughing at all. Have you seen the animated flick as well? I really love that artistic take on those characters.

At any rate, now is the time for me to demand a Shadowrun movie so that I can then demand a Shadowrun MMO based on it. :)

...of course.
Actually I would also list some anime titles here but everyone would freak out :)

The Chang Sing (Sing Dings), the Wing Kong. What more can a guy ask for? Mebbe a neutral Truckers faction?
Faction leaders- Lopan and Egg Shen.
bumbling heroics, or lack thereof
knife throws
mullets
moccasins

Really- what is stopping this game from being made? I want Kurt Russell voice overs and ridiculous banter, alongside some kung-fu combat.

Finally a voice of reason.

Mullets for everyone

Older series than firefly, but BABYLON 5 !!! (though maybe too old to get the hype needed/deserved).

Then of course Harry Potter, though the hype is getting down, with thte last book being out for some years now and only a couple films to get out. But yes, it has potential, if played between the end of book 7 and the epilogue, or between chapter 1 and chapter 2 of book 1.

Shadowrun, done right, could rock: technology AND magics (both academic and organic), a contemporary and dark setting with orcs, trolls, and elfs, the megacorps, the size of the world.

Although I could also think of a couple comics that could be great, like Lanfeust or Donjon...

Well, could not find the original thread of this. That being said, I saw this movie called PUSH. Have to say if any movie in recent days would make a excellent MMORPG. That would be it. The Movie itself even had nmes of the different classes. Different factions, as well as diverse skill sets. Thats my pick!

Example of Classes out of Push are :

 1. Mover: Telekinesis endowed character.

 2. Reader:Can see future events or in mmorpg style. Can track or do other types of warranted abilities.

3.Sniffer: Can track people places things off of objects.

 4. Minder: Talk about a psionicist :-D

Cannot remember all. But the gist of things is every endowed human has different gifts/abilities. They all can use those abilities at different levels.

The classes also do not pertain to standard classes like assassins, rogues, fighters ect. Which would be a benefit as well

Could only imagine a assassin who is a sniffer or a reader.

Well thats my pick! What ya think? Whats your idea for a movie based mmorpg.?

I did enjoy Push, but felt it just took another spin at Heroes, I wouldn't mind a MMORPG Push, but would even like Heroes to become a MMORPG much more.

But most of all I would like a Bladerunner game, to be honost any genre would do if they could get the right feel of Bladerunner, but a MMORPG......for me that would just  "hopefully...depending how it would turn out"  be a dream game.

I'd love to play a faithful Cthulhu mythos mmo, but it's probably still has to many IP obstacles to make that happen. The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy mmo would be interesting.  A Gravity's Rainbow would be intellectually provocative. A mmo based on some of the Philip K Dick SciFi books has been mentioned above and would be a great universe to base a game on.

Firefly/Serenity DUH!
Is there any other choice?

The only problem is that it doesn't have the financial backing behind it (hell Firefly only lasted 1 season! /cry) and to make it right, it would have to be the most epic MMO ever created. It would need many many planets, huge space (EVE sized or bigger), tons of guns and weapons and classes and complex combat systems space and ground both.

A space western that actually makes more sense than any SciFi Space show/movie I've ever seen. It was pure brilliance.

Awesome show.. by the end of the second episode I knew it could make a great game.. if only.
