A new Star Trek Online trailer is available for viewing over at GameVideos. The new trailer opens with the history of the establishment of the Federation in order to pursue to the peaceful discovery of new species and worlds, but quickly reminds us that "even those who strive for peace, must be prepared for war," and switches to some high-octane combat footage involving tons of ships, and even Borg cubes, but more importantly, a good dosage of ground combat, something we're seeing more and more of lately.

This *new* trailer was released on the official site on 2008.08.08.

Imo the last good Star Trek game was Starfleet Command II (which I still play every so often). Compared to the graphics on that old boy this looks like the shizzle :)

ya no kidding... i cant believe they would make a messup like this...  what would make this person think this was a new trailer when it's one of the first to be released for the game, and also shown at the Las Vegas convention over a year ago.

Massively also did the exact same thing, posting the old trailer as "new trailer".  I'm pretty sure for these sites, anything said to be new information gets posted ASAP, regardless of accuracy.  There's no way EVERY worker follows EVERY game's development.  They won't know the difference from one trailer to the next unless they're keen on that particular game.

This game looks like garbage. I hope its a total failure so that companies see that they have to actualy make a game good to make money and not just take a name like Star Trek and cash in. SAD.

If this is old that means the game looks even better now! I don't get what everyone is talking about that trailer was awesome. The ship combat looks like they stayed dead-on with the shows and movies, and raiding the bridge of another ship would be crazy fun. The graphics looked amazing too, like you'd really be in a scifi movie or an episode of TNG or something. Hater comments above me are bored failtrolls.

Honestly the game is looking real good. If it takes and makes you feel like your in the Trek universe, it will be any trekkies or star trek fans wet dream imo. I mean come on it does not have to be the hair raising end all be all AMAZING game in the world MMO. As long as the game play does not totally suck balls, it looks like it will be a lot of fun. Its a game your suppose to have fun. All this ,OMG this OMG that OMG OMG....OMG this suck.....You really cant paint the walls of a house til the framing and foundation is put up first...so your  really cant judge to much til it a LOT closer to finish...imo.
