lol i hear that every year, i think a couple times it was you who said it in previous years. When do you really think the PS3 will actually have a better lineup? Next year or 3 years in the future? It has had a better year for 2 years in a row now. If we compare all the big hitters exclusives of this year: PS3: vs There really is no contest |

true actually this year was lackluster for the 360.... although i would like to see your list for last year as well since you mentioned "For the last 2 years". TBH though, 2010 looks pretty amazing http://www.vgarabia.com/2009/10/06/5-most-anticipated-xbox-360-exclusives-in-2010/ .... and thats just 5. |

Uh, yes, it does. The Elite has a 120 GB hard drive. You're thinking about the 360 Arcade, which is not what the OP asked about. |

I will make this clear and simple. If you have Online connection (internet) Get the PS3 But other wise, get the 360. Dam I dont use my own Internet, so my online PS3 gameplay doesnt always work. So iam stuck playing crappy single player games. But once online,,,,,,,------BOOOOOMMMMMM-----,,,,, The PS3 ROCKSSSSSSSSSS
its Free to Play aswell!!!! |

It really depends on if you know more people that play PS3 of 360. Most of my friends play 360, so i tell all my other friends to get it too. The games aren't too much different, although if you really like certain games that only come on a certain system, pick that system. PS3- God of War, Metal Gear Solid (previous ones, new one is coming to the box), Little big Planet, Drake's Uncharted, and more various Japanese games. 360- Gears of War, Halo, Anything made by Vault (Portal, TF2, Half-life), Braid, ugh, i can't think of any more, but there are more. SWTOR, EVE (Atrum Muris), Allods(Ferrum), APB (Blacknight) |

ok it goes like this, if you want to play Halo games, you have to buy a 360 plain and simple. If Halo doesn't really matter then imo i would get a PS3. I own both and now buy most multiplatform games on the PS3 as graphically its marginally better but tbh its not alot, i suppose i just prefer the ps controller :)
Do your friends have either console? If so which ones do they own and would you want to go online? If they all own a xbox then buy a xbox cos you can then play over xbox live with your mates providing you have the Gold edition which they charge for - more on that later.
I bought my PS3 really for the bluray and its awesome for that, the fact it plays games is a bit of a bonus really :)
Is price going to be an issue? If so PS3 is the way to go due to the fact that getting online is free, you have wireless built in. On the otherhand, the xbox you need to buy the wireless adaptor which in the UK is about £60 and you would need to buy the Xbox Live Gold @ £44.99 i think it is - and thats a recurring 1 year subscription. Add it all up the 360 comes out more expensive then the PS3 and you still dont have bluray nor will you ever, so thats an extra cost of a bluray player - in the UK theyre about £100 now.
Back catalogue? Yup the 360 wins hands down on this one, has far too many titles available for all age groups compared to the relatively small catalogue on the PS3. |

Yet 360 has more online players and they have a better service after all. I own both consoles and if it wasn't for the 5-6 Ps3 exclusives that I enjoy I wouldn't even turn my Ps3 on. |

After I got my new pc I do not even touch my 360 because I can play the same games I can on my 360 on my new pc which look better and perform 100x better. The Xbox 360 exclusives are pretty horrible except for the original Halo. I'll be trading in my 360 very soon for a PS3 slim. |

I totally agree about the sofa, beer and console thing. It is a heck of a lot more enjoying playing games that way but if I am going to continue to use my console then Microsoft and Sony best start getting much better games on their systems. The exclusives for each console pretty much stink. When mmos to my liking come ot the console then that is when I'll be a fulltime console player in my gaming time. |

I don't think i'll ever be a fulltime console gamer, too many exclusives on different platforms and the PC still offers MMOs and the best controls for both Rts and Fps games and let us not forget the mod communities. So this generation i've spent big. Had to buy them all. |

Well companies like Turbine, CCP, SOE, Undead Labs, Square Enix will be making console mmos for both the PS3 and 360. Also The Old Republic may be coming to console so if you enjoy the console and mmos you shouldn't be disappointed. |

I hate sitting in front of my PC for extended periods of time, makes me feel like im not doing anything productive (gets me wife aggro also) so it keeps my mmo sessions down to 1-2 hours before im disgusted (or annoyed) and log off. I stick to my consoles because the games i play on them can be paused (no wife aggro if i could stop when she needs me) and its generally something me and the kids like to do together (again no wife aggro and I feel like im being productive). If i had a mmo on consoles I would be fucked. If i stuck to sp games only on PC I would be excluding the kids from it because my PC is expensive unlike my 360. It kind of works out in my situation, everyone has their own reason why they play one platform over the other. I got my 360 first so i invested in my gamer score already so i buy everything on my 360 and just use the PS3 for the exclusives.

Congrats to everyone for having a civilized (so far) conversation about PS3 vs XBox. Lets try and keep it that way! As for my 2 cents, when dealing with big name exclusives... they are only really big name if the potential player (me in this case) sees them as such. I personally can't stand shooters on consoles (and believe me I've given it many fair shakes). So for me, I don't count any FPS/3rd person combat games (aka Resident Evil, L4D, Uncharted, etc) as a plus for either system. Regardless of how well the game sells, or is billed.
