Thinking of resubbing aoc but have a few questions...

i stopped playing about 6 months ago, has the fugitive system been implemented?

how is the population/community on the pvp servers these days?
Any major new content/game changes?

Crimmeria and Tyranny pvp servers are well populated.

Fugative system? like when you kill people too low you get murder points and murder status?  They have that.

In the 6 months youve been away i think they have rehashed most of the melee classes.

We are all waiting on patch 1.06 which will add a renown system (achievement points) guild leveling (pvp/pep/crafing rankings)  and more content.

after that patch its the expansion.

The biggest change for me was making gear mean something. Fixing a huge number of bugs also helped improve the game as well. The game is simply alot better than the original release was. If you are looking for a casual MMO, AoC is alot of fun.

the game as it is right now is what it should have been a year and a half ago on its release. If it were the game would have been a huge success. They made vast improvements and thus have started to gain subs again. The expac will be the main make or break. It will either attract enough to get the population to where it should be or itll be a flop

It is a totally different game today, and well worth playing. Still slightly light on top end content if you have played to max several times (but should be fixed by upcoming content)

I came back a couple of months ago and have no intention of cancelling even though I am also now paying for FE on top of AoC and EVE. The combat and the mechanics means this one stands out from the crowd a little, and it looks better than anything else out there.

According to a twitter response by Silirrion on Saturday, seems like a welcome back campaign will be coming shortly (http://twitter.com/Silirrion).  You may want to give that a go.

Many people say that you should definitely resubb, that it's awesome now and way better than it used to be, but I say that it depends on how much you liked the game originally. And I'm refering to gameplay and concepts used, only thing that's better now is performance and less bugs, core gameplay is still there.

I absolutely agree with Methos that the core gameplay is what it has always been. However you have to keep  class balance, itemization, content and PVP rewards out of your definition of "core gameplay" since this has changed a lot since release.

Nods, the combo system is the core and its relatively unchanged so if no auto-attack or the actual protected sides, combo, placement thing isn't for you then it won't matter that the game runs like butter, has more content and is still a great explorer open world type MMO.

Personally I like the combat system but would like it if the male models didn't fight in a squatting position ;)  Female model were "corrected" since release though and don't look like they are riding a horse during melee combat :p

The game is totally worth it. Not to mention the DX10 actually works now and the game looks great in it.

Funcom has shown that they are not just going to sit back and let this one die. Even with their other project being developed they still believe AoC is a great game with a great following and will continue to support AoC.
