This thread was obviously made by a WoW supporter. Set out to help destroy an MMO that is clearly impacting the WoW population. There was a time when other MMO supporters lashed out at WoW and people (like the person that started this thread) laughed and defended WoW to the fullest. This is what people that read these threads need to understand. Forget about reading a post about marketing strategy. Blizzard does the same thing (the Wallmart of MMO's). Those of you that still play AION,,, play with your heart because in the end, that's all that matters, not an extremist's opinion. FYI.. I dont play AION because im a core player of another MMO. However, im keeping it real when it comes to stupid threads created by player haters. |

This is a weak post actually VERY weak.I like to discuss game aspects, who really cares how many are joining or leaving? This is a weak attempt to bash Aion for no reason,if you want to discuss it's weaknesses, that is fine but talking about player subscriptions is something i expect from WOW players. I tire of the many, this game is the best or we have this many subs posts. This is suppose to be a place to discuss what we believe is good and bad about a game or what we like to see in a game.Create a lot of ideas for other developers to see and read, what could anyone possibly get from a post talking about subscription numbers? http://www.youtube.com/user/Napolianboo#p/u/15/rCYLLQCNc1w |

As long as the people playing it are enjoying it, what does it matter? I havent bought it as it just didn.t appeal to me, but that doesnt mean I want it to "fail". This is as bad as console fanboyism..the type of gamer you all proffess to hate. Surely as an MMO fan, any successful game is a success for the industry? i dont want to see lots of "wow-clones" either although i hate using the term. I guess people use it as wow is still the most successful Mmorpg araound, and its just sour grapes., but I understand the sentiment. Im sick to death of bloody elves too. One of the most sensible comments made in this thread is that we are on the whole already getting bored of the genre. I swear to god, if I have to kill another wolf in an MMO again I.ll flip and start killing game developers instead! I.ll keep buying them and watching in dismay as my drawer fills up with disgarded game boxes, waiting to find the game that draws me in and keeps me interested like that one game a few years back did. maybe <insert game name here> will do it..I cant wait until it is released! I think I might just go play Fallout or Oblivion. At least I dont have to rely on anyone else to get the most out of the game. Maybe Ill just stick one more month on EQ2, or LOTRO, or Fallen Earth... that at least doesnt have elves in it. Common sense is not a Sixth sense |

All the haters must be going nuts watching the xfire numbers holding steady past the first free month. They will lie now and say xfire doesnt matter, but if AION was tanking on the xfire numbers they would be all over that. My server has been FULL since launch -- but nice try. Lie some more kids. |

As for AION, lvl 31 Cleric and I'm aout done, cant take the grind aspect, bots and spammers. The games PVE is seriously lacking as well. Another one bites the dust (for me anyway). NEXT!! Who am I kidding, just gonna go back to WOW for a bit till SWTOR hits. Current Games: WOW, Fallen Earth |

I love it. You act like it's an insult for this person to stop playing a game he does not enjoy in favor of a game he does enjoy. Get over yourself. |

Not sure how calling it like I see it is acting like I am insulted. But, you are entitled to spew whatever crap comes into your little mind. On a more topic related note: Too bad he doesnt enjoy WoW more then he enjoys posting on the forums of a game he doesnt play....Maybe if he and others like him did, then people like me who actually play AION could have a forums dedicated to AIONS playerbase -- rather then a trolling ground for wow fanbois who are scared to death of their "precious" losing some subs to another game. |

Last time I checked my name wasnt "Lemming." "You realize that Aion is just another themepark MMO," -- You realize this is your opinion ? You realize there is a nice little cliche out there about opinions ? Good, thats what I think of you. :)

But Aion is a themepark MMO. I mean take EVE and WoW, which game is Aion most similar to?

I mean in lineage 2 it got bad eventually to get B grade or A grade weapons you needed like 500,000,000 adena. This was due to people just botting and buying gold from farmers and the legit people couldn't even enjoy the catacombs or doing pve because farmers camped everything.
Well same thing is happening here in Aion and if it is not stopped then sad to say Aion is gonna go the way of lineage 2 great potential to be awsome but shutdown due to lack of effort on the devs part. |

I havent seen a serious decline on my server yet (Castor, Europe). Yesterday it was hard getting questmobs again in Salintus Desert, because of all the other people who were fighting the same mobs. |

it all depends on what time of day, and what day you logon... my 2 servers were on "full" status last night, and during the day over the weekend all of the other ones were on "Full" status but mine lol. Do not jump to conclusions |

Pure idle speculation based on no facts at all and a single observation of the server status screen. Sort of like looking at a taxi stand that has some taxis in it and from that deducing that half the city has moved out.
In Europe all the English speaking servers are reporting full during peak times and so are many of the other language ones. NCSoft was very tight on the server populations at the beginning and yes everyone was complaining about the logon queues but it really was the only way to force people to other servers to balance out the populations and now that there are good sized stable populations of both Asbos and Elyos on the servers they can and have lightened up. This is not a reflection of the games popularity but a reflection of changed policies.
In that vein as a purely non-factual observation all the major cities are still crammed full of people and all the questing areas have people running around 24x7 and it does not feel like half of the people have disappeared so I think the original OP is mistaken. |

There is a drop in subs...as in any MMORPG there are those who like it and play, those who quit and bash it when ever they can and those who complain while they still play it. If you want to know the server stats all you have to do is look at the server status. http://na.aiononline.com/livestatus/server/
I suspect in 6-12 months there will be a server merge....but by then I and a lot of playes will move to the next FF MMORPG.

Most of the servers was at level Full during weekends in EU so no mass quitting there yet. |

The hard truth you all must face is that this game will go f2p with itemshop.
