Hi there all, I've been playing FE all weekend and have come to the point I want to start spending my stat and skill points, however I have no clue what I'm doing. Some helpfull people directed me to www.globaltechplanner.com and it explained a lot to me and I do understand a little bit better - I'm still confused though:(. I was thinking I would like to do Melee/crafting or pure Melee( is this even possible or do you have to dual class?). Any suggestions what I should be focusing on for these 2? |

For your Skills: Melee, Dodge and Armor use for your Skills. And for your Stats: Perception, Intelligence, Strength, Coordination and Endurance. I usually go as many points into my skills 1st and start it with Melee. I try to max out my 3 skills 1st and then I start moving to my Stats and start dropping AP in there when I have leftover AP's Build a strong Melee character 1st and start crafting 2nd. You will start to see your character come to his / her own. Go to your www.globalchpanner.com and click on the pre-defined builds and look for Melee Crafter.. this should help ya.

By 45 you'll have enough APs to max 4 stats, 3 skills and have enough left for mutations. This means you need to decide on 1 offence skill only out of Melee/Pistol/Rifle and 2 defencive skills. For defence people usualy go with both Armor and Dodge. Offence and defence are governed by 4 stats so there you have a basic plan where to spend your APs. Bad choice would be to spend APs in 2 offencive skills because by 45 you will end up mediocre in both instead of specialized in 1 skill because of lack of APs.
For crafter is much easier because there are only 2 stats to max in order to max the crafting skills so you have a lot of room to invest in other things because you'll be able to do the PVE job up to 45 without a need to totaly max offence and defence. Some people go Craft/Pistol because pistols totaly pwn and for crafting you are maxing perception which helps the pistol skills too but ammo is a bit of a problem in S1 for pistol users. I have an alt crafter that I'm leveling atm and I went Craft/Melee because it's the most efficient money-wise.
That's a bit info in general. The fine tuning comes with the mutations and the skills you learn from the faction you will join in S2 and that's where it gets complicated when you plan your char. All factions have requirements in stats or skills in order to give you the best abilities and the so called Cap stones and lot of research is needed in order to figure out which mutations and skills from which faction you would preffer, which means you'll have to focus your progression in those areas and not waste APs anywhere else because the requirements are usually max stats or skill ( and for a skill to be maxed the coresponding stats needs to be maxed too in order to raise the cap) etc. I hope this post made sense lol, FE progression is somewhat complicated and I'm learning too.

I like this game it's just to bad that no one wants to make their own toon. They need everyone else to point them in the direction they think they need to go. Make your own guy. you just said you want a melee class. I bet if you put those points in melee you will not get a rifle classsand you will get a melee class. heck they made a game without classes and everyone seems to have lost their mind on what to do. |

I am suffering from a savage memory leak while playing FE, is there anything I can do to help the situation?

Just remember, no one is telling you on how to make your character. If you want to be a support class in this game, you can. Now if you choose.. You can go Rifles and Pistols if you really wanted to, however this character will be expensive to maintain in the long run if its your 1st character. The FE game in the future is going to have 145 levels with 10 sectors(which i think is insane and reminds me of Anarchy Online), however you will have a lot of players with mixed templates and AP's all over the board on creating a certain character you want. For now we are only given 45 levels with 3 sectors of AP's to scrounge from and players are just learning the game now and its functions in PvE and PvP templates. Fallen Earth / Lords of War |

Some perspective. Everyone hasn't. If you look at how many people are playing the game versus how many people come to forums wanting to be told what to put points in you'd find those wanting to be walked thorough character progression to be a tiny percentage of the playing base. For instance, I chose rifles but I'm not going Enforcer or Vista to get the rifle capstones. I'm going a..."different" Tech route, lol. Most other people are going their own routes too, they're just not talking about it on forums, hehe. Asheron's Call. The one open world, classless progression, live team content oriented game that ALL game sites and developers show little respect for as a template to pattern future MMOs after.

Well, I'd really really like to mix rifle/melee but on paper it looks like the gimpest combination posible at 45 heh so I dont want to invest time in a char like that because i cant figure out a good build for it. It could work in PVE but in PVP I'd get pwned pretty bad lol. Maybe I'll go for it after I have my other chars maxed which might take a long long time and probably we'll see level and sector increase by then. Oh well. |

I'm going full rifle and heavy armor. In fact, Dexterity, Endurance, Coordination, Rifles, and Armor Use are pretty much the only thing I have put point into. With the stray ones going into Dodge. It works very well for me, I can solo just about anything, what I can't I usually only need one other person to help me with. I will be going Enforcer, though I'm not going out of my way for cap stones. ____________________________ "I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but I know World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones." - Albert Einstein |
