No, they don't get it. They're a sample of that lot that thinks since their system runs fine, they are PC geniuses. Disregard and move on. |

For me, the game was a solid 2.5-3. Nothing more. Had very high hopes, but realistic expectations. Sorely disappointed. |

It's kind of funny. I started a character yesterday, and the very first tutorial quest (the one to search the junk in the lifenet bunker) wasn't bugged at all for me. And I don't think they patch since yesterday. More likely, people are retarded. But hey, that's just me. Also, with the massive flood of free trial accounts (and the amazing fact that some gold sellers actually snagged keys), the servers have been a little less stable, so lag is more likely (real lag, not fps spikes, which a lot of morons call lag). Having said all that, I'm having a blast. The game is quite fun, innovative in many ways (yay post apocalyptic mmo with a nice combat system), and otherwise amusing to me. A lot of the gripes about this game seem to come from the people that can't make it past level 2, when you start getting better gear and weapons.
Now, with all that behind us, you people complaining about bugs should be taken out back and put out of your misery. FE has less bugs than most MMO's have had at release date. I doubt (m)any of you actually played WoW during it's original beta, or right after release, or EQ(2), or AoC, or any of the others. They were terrible. Server crashes every day, queues to get into servers, bugs so bad that they actually prevented you from doing anything for hours, no/little customer service and griefing nonstop. Of those, I've only seen two server crashes in the past week and a half, I've never seen a queue, I've never seen a bug that prevented me from playing, there are GM's online in chat every hour of the day and it's only barely possible to grief. Also, OP, the GM's specifically spam a message every hour or two that there's a help channel, that it should be used for Fallen Earth in game help only, and that you are not allowed to spam, troll or curse in that channel. I see no reason why they shouldn't jump down the throat of any idiot that is doing one of those three things in that channel. (Not to mention the fact that at most to punish them, they mute a player for a short time if they repeatedly break those rules - after warning them first) God, I hate people that whine just to whine. |

It's a know that troll and fanbois are attempts to belittle a person. And don't bring up my coming in to dispute the review it got if you can't recollect anything other than I disagreed with it. It you actually read and understood what I wrote, I had an issue with the written words of the review versus the numerical scoring the guy gave. If he was going to 6.2 the game, then he should have written a review that matches the score. He didn't. I don't care what score the guy gave the game. I care that he practically praised the game in words and then turned around and slammed it with numbers. Personal attacks? Boy, you hadn't seen a personal attack from me yet, lol! Nor will you. I got your game figured out. When you don't have a foot to stand on you start crying "personal attack this" and "personal attack that". Sorry, but I haven't got time for someone who eschews the bigger picture in order to nit pick at meaningless items (woo, a quest is broken in an MMO, "Mommy, mommy, look what the bad man did!") over, and over, and over, ad nausem. Nah, the servers are down. Sucks, but it is what it is. I'm ok with that, are you? No, I don't think you are. Asheron's Call. I have to respectfully disagree with your little review. I had no issues with the settings. Set them to very high and really just cranked everything up and was good to go. 30FPS in towns, 60FPS out of town. Then again, I am running a rig made for gaming. As for bugged nodes, I have seen 3. All in the same area and there were fixed promptly. Granted I don't do much salvaging. As for the plenty of money. You must remember, you seem to be playing with a "Min-Max" playstyle. You are doing whatever you can to make the most money. Of course you'll have a lot of it. It's on a Post-Apocalyptic Earth. How would you get other races? I mean, playing as a zombie wouldn't work with the game at all. I'm not following your complaint here. If it's about the character creator, I've yet to see any two look alike. The GMs are trying to keep to chat clean. I'm sorry. Again, your complaint is simply you should be able to be a total jerk and swear all over the place? I may not be understanding you here. May I ask for you to elaborate? The server doesn't go down that often. Which means, it obviously doesn't go down easy. Could it be more stable? Of course. I will give you that. This is a valid complaint that I would have to agree with you on, albeit meeting you halfway. Again, not sure what you're getting at here? Would you rather NOT loot the creatures and NOT craft? Or not have points to attribute to various things? I don't think modern PC game releases can really be bug free because of the very vast range of hardware employed by users. I also would say that FE's release is pretty calm compared to other PC game releases period. There are a couple bugs, but none are really game breaking. As for your comment on the AI, yeah, it absolutely sucks. I can solo nearly everything except high level mobs and bosses/masters (like Grinder and Gaunt). May I ask how long you played/What level you got to? Overall, I would give Fallen Earth a solid 8/10. Taking the 2 points off for bad, bad AI. Although, the game is going places and I really do enjoy it. I simply think that your review was a little harsh, you can't expect a perfect release of any PC game at this point in time. Unlike consoles, it has to work across multiple brands and models of hardware. There will be bugs but they will be ironed out over time, and the FE devs are pretty quick about it. I would also like to add, the community for Fallen Earth is awesome. ____________________________ "I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but I know World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones." - Albert Einstein |

Saddly I have not said once I hate the game....no where...I even said it has very good points...my complaint has always been that it is in too rough of a current state for them to charge people a monthly fee to play it. You guys are all the ones saying I hate the game. In its current state as a P2P game I would not give it higher than a 6.5...clean up the bugs and that might be higher. I do not rate games by promises or maybes...I rate them on what I find in the game in its current form. If, for example, chat in a game was broken I would rate the game very low...a week later they fix it I would rate it higher. I will not give them that higher rating till the chat is fixed because as with many games who knows. Long ago AC2 taught me to never rate something on promises only on what you see. A broken training quest, semi ok graphics (I think character models are fine...I find the buildings to be subpar along with vehicle to person size ratios), delay glitches in quests (sometimes the server seems to be a little slow in realizing what choices you made in dialogs), and stale enviroments to all be negative. I think they skill system, twitch targetting, mounts, crafting, and one server idea to all be great. So I balance all of those in my opinion. |

So nearly every MMO should be rated roughly as low as FE if you were a reviewer, huh? Yeah...fail. The training quest isn't broken. As soon as servers are up, I'm going to make /another/ new character, so I can mock you even more. Graphics are a bit dated, but I'd like to see what you could come up with with the budget that an indie game company has. Not many could do better, unless they sacrifice more from other places, and I'd rather have content than a pretty wrapper. Delay is called lag. It's especially prone to happen when the servers are flooded with mindless retards that managed to snag a trial key. It happens. Stale environments? Yeah...bet the environments would be really exciting and awesome after an apocalypse. I'm sure you're right there. There definitely wouldn't be any wasteland, devoid of most life. Especially not in the desert/grand canyon area. Nope. |

Yeah, I see rough spots that need polish. That said, I could find rough spots like that in UO and WoW. Those games have been out for a long time. And I've seen alot worse (I was in AOC beta and there at launch where I typically had to attempt to log in 3-4 times before getting in). Weighing my past gaming experience which includes 90% of the "AAA" titles and a host of other sine 1997, I gotta say FE, in the grand scheme, isn't as bad as some folks try to make it out to be. It isn't perfect, but neither is it horrid. As far as paying for it, I obviously have no issue with it. We pay to have fun. I'm having fun. That doesn't mean I'm turning a blind eye to the games issues. It just means I'm focusing on the fun because, based on past performance, I know this dev crew will do what they need to do when they have the funds to do so. They've proven it before so I'm not just running on speculation. Now, I can understand that someone who hasn't experienced that with them before may have doubts, but that doesn't mean I'll sit idly by and let Icarus take an un-called for tongue lashing just because the other person is ill-informed or un-trusting. Potential is a part of the equation, be it a large part or small. Out of all the recent releases, FE has the most potential to hold my attention and give me bang for my buck. Fun for one may not be that for another, this I know. that in mind, it assuredly doesn't take away from the positives that FE possesses. Too many people are offering level-headed, positive praise of this effort is a testament to that. It not the viral rant and rave defense that we've seen with another title here lately. No game company will ever meet the unreasonable expectations of some people, that's why we have such bitter threads so many times in so many games. OP maybe is time to come down to earth for once, use your head and if you don't have long experience with MMOs in general and launches in particular it might be better to just read, watch and learn instead of making judgements on things you clearly dont understand. There are couple of very common sense things you need to consider in order to tone down your expectations:
- If you dont have at least above average system and graphics card that is not older then a year dont expect good performance from new MMOs, especialy less then 6 months after launch. Time to upgrade that Commodore 64. Time and time again we see people whining about technical problems on old systems. People need to realize that 4 year old PC might run newer single player games and even some MMOs, but playing on a shity PC in a non-instanced open world MMO is asking for trouble. It's simple. Either invest money in keeping your hardware up to date (especially the gpx card) or if you can't afford it stick to consoles, single player games or older MMOs. It is how it is and those that realize this can save themselves a lot of annoyance. And spending money on new hardware is not enough, system need to be kept clean too, drivers updated regulary, discs defrags weekly, avoid instaling software that you almost never use , keep it to minimum and only applications that are usefull to you etc etc.
Notice how people that dont have any technical problems can actually focus on reviewing the game features and play style instead of whining about lags and disconects. So... sort your tech troubles before you come to forums and bash games from sheer annoyance because your system cant run it properly. |

i liked teh game but the down time in it for a pistol character was just retarded. i'd spend 6+ hours a day just scavanging mats for ammo, you make 80 bullets per craft wich takes like 15 minutes to make those 80..... and you'll unload 1/2 a clip per gun into 1 mob to kill it and thats if you try to be as efficient as possible with your ammo. so i tried to just gather mats one day and then set the crafting thing up to go while i slept, figured atleast tomarrow i can go out and quest and level without too much worries. wrong, i had made over 1000 bullets and i blew through those in a couple of hours (maybe 3). so i gathered like hours and hours the day before logged off so it could craft hours and hours so the next day i could quest for a few hours..... something is wrong there. i know its suppose to be a post apocalyptic world and living is going to be tough. and they are going for a sense of realism with the crafting for it to take so long to make simple things. yeah in r/l it might take some one some time to make bullets, but its sure as hell isn't going to take 10-15 shots to kill something at point blank range. i liked the sense of realism in the game but they need to also make it feasible for in game. eqaute the 15 min= 15 min game time not r/l time, or make more per craft something so we can make something otehr than a melee class just so we don't have hours and hours and hours where we just can't quest/exp. |

It is how it is and if they change it it will screw up the ammo balance in later sectors. In S2 things change: You learn efficency skills that yield double size clips at first and even bigger later for the same mats requierements. Also, money come much easier in the higher sectors so buying mats from vendors instead of farming them is very sustainable. There you go, your problems solved. |

I picked up Rifle Ammo Efficiency in S1! Ammo production is about playing smart, in my view. To be fair, it isn't using the exact same amount of mats to create more. You use the same amount of gunpowder, sure, but scrap copper, scrap lead and scrap steel requirements go up a little. Not that you can't find those three just about everywhere in S1, mind ya, lol.
