1st off I think the game is good. The graphics are ok. Crafting is above the norm. :) Combat is ok at best.

Need some advice from current players. Please do not post if you dont like the game.

I'm having trouble "getting going"

I cant seem to make much money and all of it is going to crafting which is slow going.  I farm and farm and farm and farm which is getting tedious and monotonus. It brings some cash in but not alot and I need those items to craft.  Crafting is slow going ufortunately also. I tried doing the missions but little money to be had there. ( got a nice crossbow though). Im almost better off farming to level 40.

Ive also had no player interaction (playing since Monday) as no one responds to my help questions or to find a guild. Dont get me wrong as i like to solo but this is getting silly.

Im starting find the game boring after 1 week.  Need advice b4 I quit.

It sounds like you already have your answer which is to quit. Since you're on your free month, I suggest you keep at it for a bit more and try to make some contacts. That usually makes a game more enjoyable, hehe.

I only played in beta, liked the game ok, like you, but just found it wasn't for me.

Like many games money is a problem at low lvls, it changes around lvl 10-12 when the things you scavenge begin to give you 5 to 10 times as much money per drop.

I suggest you concentrate on only a few crafts in the beginning and vendor or sell on AH most of the rest of the stuff you scavenge.

This is how I've done it:

-First couple of weeks I focused on leveling and gathering mats until I hit S2

-Last week I've gained like 4 levels, but increased 4 crafting fields to around 100, and the others to 50-80

Follow this path and you will have plenty mats and cash to craft those crafting experience point items, and have your furst buggy by the time you reach New Flagstaff.

That said: I'm a very patient ("strategic") guy which has no problem that making a dune buggy may take me a week...

I am not sure what your talkin about with the community. I find all my questions answered fastly and placed a ton of people on my list. The help channel was full of people asking and answering questions for the last five hours I played today. I am not sure about the money part, im doing the quests and been able to tow my mount back with plenty of money to spare, how much money are you lookin to get...i mean chips?

I had the same problem mate,

It could be like me you were focusing on to many crafting choices, try to focus on 1 or maybe 2 at best, you can always catch the rest up later.

I struggled for money I would say level 1-14,I then just focused on Science and ballistics,my bank is full of mats for armorcrafting later but I will go back to that, quest's from around level 14 to 17(my level) do reward alot more chips as a reward,ok I did sell something for 3 red but even so I still have 5 red now,the other 2 red was from quest's and selling the useless things to vendor's.

On top of all this I am still on the last stage of my Cargo ATV after a week of crafting and at some points buying the mats.

Like I said try just to focus on what is most important to you at the time,If you enjoy the game it would be a bit foolish to quite over the fact you do not have lots of cash left over at low level,I think I went down to around 1 blue at level 10 as I was leveling crafting.

For once there is an MMo that you do not need to be top level to enjoy the ride,I hope you stick with it mate,if I can help with anything in game I will try my best, send a tell to /sinhealer.

I'll reiterate the point that with crafting after a certain level maybe 50-70 really start to concetrate on one or two crafts. I went armor, science and ballistics and now at 100 I have to pair it down again, probably science. The best cash comes from specializing in one thing. Sell mats you grinded with (especially junkier ones) to npc's and keep only the highest 1 or 2 items in auction.

Look into guilds on the main sites forums, if your more into pug's its harder but hitting a well travelled dungeon and grinding mobs at the entrance will get you a group invite within 15 minutes usually, or yell out for one in region. If your looking for roleplay just hit a crowded town like oilville and start joking, dancing and being goofy at the vault, auction house or tradeskillers. I guarentee theres a bunch of other goofs that will join right on in (I always do).

Another great place to play with folks are town events. Best groups I've seen were at the embry monster hunt.

From what I gather in your first post, the bigger issue is money. When I first started the game a couple of weeks ago, I bought almost every skill book for crafting. If you are doing that also, I can see why you are strapped for cash. The crafting does pay off in the long run though. A lot of that stuff that you are grinding to raise your crafting up (specially armor) can always be sold on the AH. Be smart about posting your auctions though. I see a lot of people actually posting for a loss. Here is what I mean: if post is = or < the AH deposit + vendor price..... then that is a loss. If the AH is flooded with the same stuff you want to sell that are posting for a loss, then just vendor the items. Also,..take your time to go a little out of the way to scavenge/harvest/mine nodes. All that stuff that you can craft (which is stuff that is actually worth using unlike other mmo's) and use can end up saving you lots of chips in the future and plus put a little more jingle in the pockets as well.  And like some else said, around lvl 10+, the mission payouts actually start paying nicely. Good luck out there.

I was having money trouble too.  I decided after playing a hybrid character for a bit to make a purely combat toon.  I pretty much vendor everything I loot, which starts to add up.

Am I rich.  No, definitely not.  But I have enough for gear and to buy my skill books.

As far as being lonely in game I can sympathize.  Atleast in sector 1, which is where I am at the moment, you are not really required to group much.  Today I saw some guy messing around in town and struck up a conversation with him and got a guild invite.  On a whim I accepted, and I'm not sure if it will take or not, but that's how you meet people.

Really I'm looking more for an rp guild that is chota friendly, but I haven't found what I'm looking for yet.  I'm also a swg vet so finding folks with that background would be a plus.

Maybe someone here at mmorpg.com should start an FE rp guild.  That might be fun.

I'm a level 19 crafter.

at first i did all the crafting quests for my books so i didnt have to buy them., saved me tons of money

I take the time to harvest any concentration of 3 or more nodes. no matter the type.

I usually run around doing missions while crafting things. i then scavenge anything i cant wear myself. occasionally i sell something i made on the AH.

my crafting skill caps are at 75 right now.

I have baillstics, science, armorsmith, nature, geology and melee all above 70

the only thing i've bought from the AH was 1 stack of 100 scrap iron and got it cheap. i'm at just under 2 red chips now and find no real use for the chips ATM since i have every book i want/need and am wearing the best armor/weapons that i can be for my skill level
