I was glad to see that UO got #1 in MMORPG.coms top 5 MMORPGs that should be remade. Like the author stated in the review, I also feel that it is amazing that this game has not been remade using up-to-date technology. The fact that UO still has a pulse after all these years with the competition being the way it is shows that there is still a demand for this type of MMO. We all want a skill system that is as in-depth as UO. It was great! I'm so sick of classes and levels and I'm sure many others are as well. Please consider remaking this game in some form or another, it would be a major hit. |

There are some games in the work with similar systems, we can just hope they take off. If Darkfall even if it is more a pvp game than an UO successor manages then other companies may follow |

Well there was what...two attempts at remaking UO already...and both were canned. While I would love to play a Pre AoS UO with todays graphics....I doubt we will ever see it.

There are so many attempts to create a new game world currently in progress that i cannot understand why EA doesnt send out a call to wanna be developers to upgrade and fix (needs a good, repeat good quest system, wow, war, eq2, etc) UO. This would be an awesome game with upgraded graphics. It already has the environment and creatures populated. The server zone lines work well already. Aion has a gps system installed, like a guidence system to various npc's that would be perfect for UO. The crafting system in UO is the best in MMO history. This game cannot be put on the trash heap, it must be remade. COME ON DEVELOPERS, GIT-IT-DONE !!! |

I was honestly thinking the same thing, if UO put a up to date graphic first person , this game would be amazing there is no game like it, you start out and be whatever your heart desires.. its a great game, with it being completly redone and keeping the old creatures, animals, bank system, guilds chaos vs order etc.. this game would no question be at the top. |

I have been a UO player since it's launch and continue to play to this day. No other MMO has held my attention quite like UO. I agree that the game needs to be remade, but I am not 100% sold on making it a first person view. For me part of the allure for it is still the "2.5d" look it has. I have seen UO in 3d (Iris2 client) and while it is different.... I just don't know. The community is what made the game for me. Remember the old Order vs. Chaos massive wars in the Hedge Maze BEFORE there was even Order/Chaos? Thats what made UO well.... It's beta give it time. They have been putting out big patches every two weeks. I guesstimate four more patches before release. I expect release to be not very good, but I will be patient. I will support them because they are the only company that I know of designing a game after my own heart. |

EA annaounced a new UO is in the works in July , The developers are Mythic and Netdragon...
