Full Disclosure:  I bought this game and jumped in on launch day.  I played my way through Tortage, and out to the next city when I realized I was playing a very linear, instanced game.  I won't run over all of my original complaints, because you have heard them all ad nauseum.

Alas, I am without a game as usual.  I've been waiting and waiting for something to come along, and nothing is doing it for me. Q3/Q4 2009 is bringing pretty much nothing to the table for me, so I am forced to look backwards for something to keep me busy until this time next year when we will likely see the next batch of MMO's rolling out (and subsequently tanking).

Questions:

1) Are they still using the absolutely ludicrous concept of static resource spawns? Is crafting fun, or just a shallow afterthought like most theme-parks.

2) Did they bring more clothing/armor sets into the game?  At launch, we all looked pretty much the same, and it sucked.

3) Is there any social / community aspect to the game, or is everyone just running around doing the quest theme-park thing like in WoW?  I'm looking for an MMO that has an interesting in-game community.

I held on to my AoC box in case they pulled off a miracle and fixed the game.  I'm still not sure it's the one I will go back to, but my options are limited.

Thanks for your time.

Questions:

1) Are they still using the absolutely ludicrous concept of static resource spawns? Yes. Is crafting fun, No. or just a shallow afterthought like most theme-parks. Unfortunately, this is hitting the nail on the head.

2) Did they bring more clothing/armor sets into the game?  Yes. At launch, we all looked pretty much the same, and it sucked. Well, the game is still low fantasy, so many of the items will look the same/similar. The end game items look really cool tho, and many of the dungeon blues look cool too. I like it, but a matter of taste I guess.

3) Is there any social / community aspect to the game, or is everyone just running around doing the quest theme-park thing like in WoW?  I'm looking for an MMO that has an interesting in-game community. I think the major thing here is your guild. There is definately a lot of PUG-ing going on in the game, but most of my conversations are in the guild. I've also spent some time dueling in Border Lands, and we usually have fairly lenghty conversations on PvP builds, tactics, and general nonsense between the fights. I play on a PvE server, so we are quite civil :)

I held on to my AoC box in case they pulled off a miracle and fixed the game.  I'm still not sure it's the one I will go back to, but my options are limited. Much of the initial complaints have been fixed. There are still some things not working 100%, but overall the game is quite polished now imho. There's a free trial you can do to see if it fits you.

Thanks for your time. You are welcome :)

Kept it as short as possible. If you have nothing else to do you really don't have anything to lose by giving it a go :)

Well, thanks for the lack of response.  This sealed the deal for me.  I'm moving on to a different game.

Went back to that game 3 times. Each time I liked it more than the last. Found my self quitting everytime. Dont know why, but it just eventually wasnt keeping me intrigued.

Now  I dont know what floats your boat, but the game FALLEN EARTH is floating mine.
