There is gold spam all over WoW trade channel and in tells too. Since it has been out for 5 years it should have adequate protection, right? So does that mean Blizzard is also promoting RMT? The world is doomed.

omagad.. Is it that hard to put a GM to find every single gold seller and keep banning their accs until they see that they spend more money on buying accs than they earn from selling gold? jees , or even find their IPs , which accs hold the gold etc ain't that hard .. . |

Originally posted by Jimmydean I quit WoW a couple of months ago and there was no gold-spamming in the trade channel at all. I did get the odd whisper, normally one or two a day, but nothing more. That was on Destromath. WoW's problem is allowing all those trial keys that spammers get their hands on. I am not defending Blizzard, nor accusing NCsoft, but its best to come from a position of not using another game to make an excuse your own one, defend it on its own merits. |

They are liars at NC SOFT - they lie all the time. That's not only NCSoft problems, its common for most of companies recently. They fail to understand that in the era of internet all they lies and scams will get exposed sooner rather than later and they will be transparent due to some of their clients being a lot smarter than their staff ever be. |

I am willing to bet these spammers in any game, do not have the gold/items they offer. It is just a ploy to attract people into giving them credit card/paypal information to steal. Since it is in fact illegal for people to purchase things this way, there is nothing anyone can do after giving up your information to these organizations. I've already stated this before, and that is why you seen the unbelievable ammounts of currency being offered so soon. |

I wasn't saying that it's ok because it can be found in WoW too. What I'm saying is that it is impossible to stop all gold spammers / botters. NCSoft has taken leaps and bounds and now u might block 1 or 2 spammers per day, and that's it. I see botters just as often in Aion as I do in any game. They are trying folks, of course you are going to be critical to a new game, that's alright. However, don't go saying NCSoft are gold spammers just because they can't ban each and every gold seller. It is much harder to actually verify, yes they need to verify things when they ban accounts, than it is for a gold seller to steal / buy a new one. |

You hit the nail right on the head here Jimmy, it seems worryingly easy for these spammers and gold sellers to steal accounts. Removing that alone would reduce the illegal currency trade. |

LOL...in the 8 months i played WoW i have seen a few whispers and gold seller body spam quiet often. These companies are like rats, they always find a way hawk their sites. Hell i can go to any rmt site and look at their list of popular games and see gold for WoW, L2, Aion, EQ2, FFXI, AoC, WarHammer, LotR, etc. Rats are a tough bunch to kill and they always spread out to make as much as possible in any MMO. So saying that they lied is just pathetically ignorant on your part and saying that their cooperating with rmt trading just makes you look stupid. No MMO can effectively fight rmt bots 100% and thinking any company can is rediculous. Only way to truely stop these people is not to buy their service, but that's a cake dream as we all know there will always be quiet a few people that will buy it. Get over it, ether play and report the bots as you see them or quit and go play something else. Complaining about it does nothing to help the game, only to satisfy those who disliked it in the first place. As i have said in other posts, i'm willing to give NCWest some time (few months) to get their act together on the bot issue. Currently playing: Aion Played: L2 RFO EvE R.O.S.E EQ2 HellGate:London TRIBES2 WOW WarHammer |

People you forget who your talking about... Its not going to change |

Even if they have tools that doesn't mean they just press a button and magically all the bots and spammers disappear. It takes time and there are many people to ban. |

That's true. Having said that they do actually remove them. I reported one of the shops advertising gold sites. Through the NC Soft website as the ingame system doesn't seem to work. I got 2 e-mails a little while later. One asking for more info and one indicating that the person was removed. So I logged into the game and the character was still there. Sent another e-mail asking what more info they needed and included a screenshop, iterating the same info I had added before. A little over an hour later I received another e-mail indicating that they removed the character and were looking into other players who the character had dealings with and lo and behold the character was gone from in the game. So I do see them working on it. But it's a chronic problem. There is RMT in all popular games and there is no one silver bullet approach. As ayase had inidcated, they are highly organized and there are many of them. |

They don't actually have it, they just recruit more slaves if the demand is there. It's a bit like the global banking system |
